#Thor #WoodenTrain w/handcrafted #Mjölnir! The helmet was hard - it's made of three glued together tiny things: half a wooden diamond-conical shaped bead, a piece of rubber tread from a broken #ThomasAndFriends #Thumper, & wings I made of fabric. Once all glued, I painted the finished helmet silver.

2nd of my two latest #Woodentrain projects: #Marvel's #IronMan .
Iron Man was a challenge; he took five days. In comparison, my #IncredibleHulk took 4 hours total, including all gluing-steps drying & paint drying time.
I've never tried to make anything as complex as my Iron Man before.
Also, hand-painting his tiny face was 1) hard, 2) fun, and 3) funny!
My two grandsons, ages 6 and 2.5 years old, LOVE them both; they have requested (demanded) MORE #avengers trains!

I'm happy with how my #CaptainAmerica #woodentrain turned out, despite how shakey my hands are when painting things like tiny train faces. This face, with the teensy white "A" really strained my eyes!

16x20 acrylic #painting, "Ben's Blue Train World", for my 2.5yo grandson. His love of "Blue Train" comes from listening over and over to #BlueTrain by #JohnnyCash. I first made a little #woodentrain so I could replicate it in the painting. My grandson requested theses details: blue castle, based on 3D wooden castle I painted for both my grandsons; horse is based on Elsa's "Blue Horse of Water" (as we calls it) in #Frozen movies; red cardinal flying in the sky.

6yo grandson requested a Cousin Charlotte #woodentrain ~ she's really his mother's cousin (my niece) who's in High School, but that's what he's always called her. He said, "Make it a basketball one because she is really great at basketball, with red and white for her team, and put her game face on it!" so . . . I tried to do all that. His beliefs in my artistic abilities are somewhat belied by my actual artistic abilities! ❤️

I used a couple of the finger-pulls on the seals of my non-dairy creamer bottles for the horns. I formed the curls by soaking in HOT water & then QUICKLY curling & clamping & running under cold water 😁🔥💦😁

2nd #Dinosaur #woodentrain is done! Again, the decorative plastic rings on store bought cupcakes are handy additions🤣. And yes, I used a toothpaste cap for the train's "cab" 😁

Started the #Butterfly #woodentrain requested by 6yo & 2.5yo grandsons. Started w/a flat base and built up the train w/pieces of wood. I didn't make butterflies: they're plastic rings on store-bought cupcakes for birthday parties (a similar rings-inspired dinosaur train'll be coming soon, too, lol!). Cut of the ring parts to glue 'em flat to the sides. Will paint the little face & glue it on today. I like it so far.

Not shaped like an X-wing, just inspired by the iconic spacecraft. Cobbled together from pieces of wood & felt. It is intentionally battered-looking, especially the helmet, cuz Luke & his spacecraft are FIGHTERS! The "googles" were a challenge. You should've seen 5yo & 2yo grandsons' faces when they saw #R2D2 ! I know lightsabers aren't part of X-wings: 5yo grandson requested two of my wooden lightsabers go "up by R2D2" ~ I can't say no to him!! 💜 -
I like how my #StarWars #DarthVader #woodentrain project turned out, despite the fact that trying to create the helmet-visage out of felt and tiny bits of wood was keeeee-razy! 💜 I still need to gloss/protect it (and trim the stray threads of his cape!), but ... I like it! 💜

Almost 5yo grandson is in the 4th generation of my family to loves all-things #starwars and #princessleia is our favorite (she's the BEST!), so I #frankensteined a little #woodentrain to represent her. I know her handpainted face doesn't do justice to the real thing (ie, the amazing Carrie Fisher!) but I really like my lightsabers, white felt collar, and cinnamon-bun hair!

Made a Lukezilla #woodentrain using a #ThomasAndFriends "Luke" train for my almost 5yo grandson Luke, who currently loves all-things #Godzilla AND still loves Playin' Trains. I had a LOT of fun making this one, and my grandson loves the "green fire" that runs along Lukezilla's back into a poseable tail (imade of felt & wire). Success!

Not a #woodentrain, but I made a custom #BlueTrain face for a plastic battery-operated plastic train that goes on #woodentracks. I do love #JohnnyCash and hois Blue Train song has been a life-long favorite, so that's what inspired this customization.

I created this little #Dopey #woodentrain for my grandson because we love Dopey so much 💜 "It ain't no trick to get rich quick when you dig dig dig with a shovel and a pick" . . . but . . . I tried to make picks and shovels out of balsa wood, but they kept breaking because they were too tiny. So, I printed out an image and glued them to the sides of my amethyst-carrying cargo car. I think Dopey's balsa wood ears turned out pretty well, though! 💜
