45th station: Shōno (Travelers surprised by sudden rain), 庄野, #Shōno, from The Fifty-Three Stations of the #Tōkaidō (東海道五十三次, Tōkaidō Gojūsan-tsugi), a series of #Ukiyoe (#Japanese #WoodcutPrints) by Utagawa #Hiroshige after his first travel along the Tōkaidō in 1832. For a special limited edition of "#TheHuntingOfTheSnark#", #IanMortimer was commissioned by Macmillan Publishers to print #HenryHoliday's illustration to #LewisCarroll's tragicomedy from the original wood-engraved blocks. The Holiday illustrations in all 19th-century editions were printed from #electrotypes (http://www.victorianweb.org/art/illustration/tech1.html).
