  1. The new wood burning stove is going great. Heard there was some guy giving my bro some grief at his relatively new spot which I don't like but everyone else is in good form. I do love autumn and want to get out tomorrow to see what I can forage but also need to put up things for sale as I am happy but running behind on cashflow. #autumn #woodburningstove #september #foraging

  2. great news everyone it's that magical time of year where i have to find places for the clutter within flammable distance of the stove so i can get Properly Toasty 🪵

  3. @hikingdude Yes, mostly around -28 but -32 was the coldest I think. Not very common here, especially not for a whole week. It even affected the electricity price, one day it was up at 2,33 €/kWh, not fun for those who don’t have a fixed price. A good motivation to use the wood burning stove. #woodburningstove

  4. #Day190 of #100HappyDays : a rare but welcome #Sunday off work, and I’ve had a good day #today. I have spent much of the day catching up with friends. First Bleaze and then Emma, both of whom I’ve not seen for far too long.

I’m now home with the fire lit, but also warmed by the knowledge and company of good #friends.

#Starbucks could learn to hold off on the whipped cream though! 😁

  5. We've been in the process of getting a wood-burning stove (since Feb.) I hear the wood should all be harvested and chopped the winter before. The first year will just be learning I guess. It keeps me at home working out so might be good for nature and the body in some way. Gets me up clearing a grass roots group's orchard too. And I learn lessons: old wood is hard to split, always have an extra wedge. Do this before the summer heat and humidity. #WoodSplitting #Axe #Wedge #WoodBurningStove #薪割り

  6. It’s that time of year again where we spend half the evening getting the fire to

    a) light
    b) stay alight
    c) keep it at optimum temp
    d) avoid displacing the plate (happens almost every night here 🙈🤣)

This is fine unless you have uncooperative knees
