My latest test #wand creation. The handle is wrapped with real leaves, which keep their colour under glue. I then used #pyrography to burn various patterns onto it.

And I finished my #pyrography dragon, including sealing/lacquering it.

I've taken many shots along the way as I want to do a rough time-lapse video for NJ. She often sees the end results and assumes I work impossible magic, rather than the time, mistakes, corrections these things take.

I'm not 100% happy with it, but that's probably true if everything I've ever done!

Hey all, I feel a bit mentally all over the place, but I have to try and focus shortly.

Here's an updated shot of my #WIP woodburning #dragon. I've worked on the scales mostly today.

It's coming on, but my target to finish it is the start of September as the village has a flower and craft show with a casual competition. I've never entered before, and I want to out of curiosity. For a small village, we have a lot of creative folks.

I think, the last time I shared this #dragon, I had done most outlined.

Today's progress on the #dragon #pyrography - all outlines are now burned on. Detail, texture and shading is next.

The thing with wood burning is, once you've done it, it's like permanent marker- you can't change it. So my mistakes here, I will have to try and cover our blend into the final piece.

So here's tonight's progress. The first is just the transferred outline. Once I've burned the outline, then it will be the time-consuming detail phase.

On va dire que c'est très très extrêmement post-romantique de transcender la douleur par l'art... Mais pour ceux qui sont concernés, vous considérerez (sans doute ?) que les auras visuelles migraineuses sont un phénomène fascinant (avant que ça fasse juste mal XD).
