Israel’s ongoing genocide of the Palestinian people isn’t limited in its goal to erasing Palestinians in Gaza by murdering them, creating conditions unsuitable for life, and ethnically cleansing them. The goal of Zionists is to erase and silence Palestinians completely. And that includes erasing them from cultural events and even from online spaces.

This is why Gaza Verified exists: to protect their voices here on the fediverse at least.

Here’s an idea: Every time you see a Zionist attempt to erase Palestinians, why not take look at the list of our families and friends from Gaza who are part of our fediverse community and see if you can help one of them.

I have to put a big shout out to #Womad in this regard. Ive been a bunch of times - twice to New Plymouth Ngāmotu and more than i can remember to hot n dusty #Womadelaide (my folks used to live not so far from the venue). The big name bands would be fine but every time without fail someone (usually more than one) unknown to me would knock my socks completely gone.

I'm not against using animal products, per se, but the use of them in this manner, where they become waste within seconds of use, for the most trivial of purposes, seems not only antithetical to the philosophy of #womad, but also anti-animal-rights and a celebration of the human conquest of nature
