As a species I believe we see reality through our eyes more so than our brains (or any of our other senses).
Problems arise, however, when we choose to see what we believe rather than believe what we see.
Take a child when asked how many fingers I am holding "out", with one hand behind my back. The child will nearly always dive around the back to see my other hand too. Not so an adult.
Entrenched with over confidence that what they believe they see is true, they get it wrong. Almost always.
Similarly with for e.g. rubbish, we bin it, move it, recycle it, cut it or hide it. All we have done is move it out of (plain) sight. It still exists.
We flush a toilet & believe it has gone away for ever.
#Covid19 & #ClimateChange, #DomesticAbuse, #Fascism (& etc) are all like this too.
Sadly we have chosen to ignore problems, diseases, violence.
Hiding things under the rug doesn't solve the issue. Eventually it will out. Some will continue to refuse to see it even then. But it will out.
The world is at a #Crossroad where we can choose to see reality. Or not.
We can still select paths leading to futures for most organisms on the planet. Or not.
If we prefer to keep our heads in the sand we won't even see the noose that tightens around our neck.
It is firmly around our neck & its binds are solid. We don't have time to "#wokeup"
We, as a species, have to grow up. And way fast.

Similarly with for e.g. rubbish, we bin it, move it, recycle it, cut it or hide it. All we have done is move it out of (plain) sight. It still exists.
We flush a toilet & believe it has gone away for ever.
#Covid19 & #ClimateChange, #DomesticAbuse, #Fascism (& etc) are all like this too.
Sadly we have chosen to ignore problems, diseases, violence.
Hiding things under the rug doesn't solve the issue. Eventually it will out. Some will continue to refuse to see it even then. But it will out.
The world is at a #Crossroad where we can choose to see reality. Or not.
We can still select paths leading to futures for most organisms on the planet. Or not.
If we prefer to keep our heads in the sand we won't even see the noose that tightens around our neck.
It is firmly around our neck & its binds are solid. We don't have time to "#wokeup"
We, as a species, have to grow up. And way fast.
