i think that the persecution of people, especially women, over hundreds of years through witchcraft trials and execution is an important part of cultural history.

we have a lot to learn from this history and commeration matters.

there is a plaque on the wall of Rougemont castle remembering the last English witch executions

It’s always blown my mind that the Salem witch trials 1- actually happened in what is now Danvers “Salem village” 2- were essentially 1690s version of a viral TikTok.

Like all the kids were doing it for attention and to be cool and 25 people DIED.

I've done some videos about the #Witch Panics in #Galloway , and while it's a subject I'll definitely come back to, the story of Elspeth McEwen is one of the best documented, and the story of the Mass #WitchTrial in #Dumfries is one of the most egregious things to have happened in South-West Scotland.
