because I was away for a couple of weeks, I've decided to let the December caption contest run until the end of this week (Friday, Jan. 16 and announce the winners on Sunday the 18th), that means there will be no January caption contest unfortunately, but there will be a February one! (possibly Valentines or Lunar New Year themed)

The Darkness was very good. I would have guessed a new writer would have come in like Bennit for Witchblade. But, gotta say, Marc Silvestri wrote a great book. On my list.

Ok, the Witchblade reboot has been ok so far. Didnt seem fully sure of itself. But I just read ish' 14, and things have improved.
This issue was much more confident feeling. Dont know if this creature is a throwback, or a new creation. But it is fun.
And I like this new char, Maralisa. A teen with an afinity for conspiracy theory. And careful about her rights. Which, she kinda seems like a play on Mary from Switch.

Day 17 of #Arttrober is Witchblade from the same-named comic series. Or rather, the host of the Witchblade.
Not being very familiar with the series, I ended up fudging which actual Witchblade protagonist I was drawing.
I also had to choose a pose and a version of the Witchblade armour that wouldn't require a content warning... this era of comics really didn't wrap their female leads up warmly.

Haven't checked the new Witchblade run yet, though I'm curious because I've heard really good things and I'm a fan of a lot of Marguerite Bennett's work, but this Marc Silvestri Witchblade #3 variant paying homage to his 1989 crucified Wolverine Uncanny X-Men #251 cover is pretty cool.
