Today heralded the arrival of the first #snow flurries here at home in the #Livradois-Forez, #Auvergne. We're fortunate enough to get our fair share of absolutely gob-smacking sunsets from the comfort of our living room, although I stepped outside briefly to capture this on my Xiaomi phone. Here the #sun is casting its final splash over the #Cézallier Plateau on the south-western edge of the #Puy-de-Dôme and the north-eastern border of the #Cantal.

5 years ago I took a drive up the west coast SF > Seattle and back. Here's a few shots from the journey. These are Oregon and Nor Cal. I love the moodiness of the landscape this time of year, don't really get that around the bay area. Out there, there is an emptiness and bleakness that sits well with me.
