The Demon King's Daughter is Too Kind!! Episode 1 Impressions

This is super cute. Doux is an adorable child, and I love how Jahi and the Demon King try to make her evil, and always immediately fail.

I was surprised at the super emotional moment of the show. I'll check out a couple more episodes, but I'm unsure if this will be one I keep up with weekly. I can see it as something I check out an episode or 2 of here and there.

The Invisible Man and His Soon-to-Be Wife Episode 1 Impressions

OMG THIS IS ADORABLE!!! I absolutely love this couple. The show looks pretty good, and the dynamic is just so good. Yako is just too damn cute.

I also love the 2 co-workers. Jarashi is awesome! I really think I'm going to enjoy this one if it maintains these vibes going forward.

There was a Cute Girl in the Hero’s Party, so I Tried Confessing to Her Episode 1 Impressions

First off this show doesn't look very good. The character designs and action look cheap.

After the MC confesses and gets rejected though, it had some great laugh out loud moments. Had no clue this was an isekai either.

After the rejection moment though, it gets a bit boring again. Even with its obvious problems, it has a good amount of cute moments. I doubt this will be a weekly watch, but I can see myself binging down the road.

Tune In to the Midnight Heart Episode 1 Impressions

The MC kind of sucks huh? I am interested in his search for the online radio personality he used to listen to and chat with, but he's such a douche in this first episode.

The girls are cute, and while their character designs are pretty tropey, they work well for their archetypes. Sadly the MC's character design is extra bland.

Sadly the humor wasn't hitting as well as you hope for a rom-com. But the mystery of who Apollo is, is so intriguing. GAH!! Giving it another ep or 2

Otaku In Review Episode 267: Drinking through Japan

After watching some more episodes from the Winter 2025 anime season last night, I have my final list of shows I'll be watching weekly.

Surprisingly I have 11 shows I'm keeping up with. Also continuing A Terrified Teacher at Ghoul School! which started last season.

Also, I'll be giving more details on why I'm watching these shows, as well as reasons why I dropped and stalled on others during the quarterly anime season preview Otaku In Review episode.

Recording the show this weekend with @station, so I'll announce once the podcast episode is live.

The bath scene showed me why this anime has a censored and an uncensored version...

I Have a Crush at Work Episode 1 Impressions

Cute adult (as in a relationship between adults, not hentai lol) rom-com. I'm surprised this hasn't been licensed yet, and I hope it will.

Centered around keeping their relationship at work a secret. While they have their awkward moments and embarrassed reactions, it doesn't cause them to keep their distance outside of work like other anime do.

Animation is really nice, and the character designs are good as well.

I think this will be a weekly watch, especially if it gets licensed.

The Red Ranger Becomes an Adventurer in Another World Episode 1 Impressions

The beginning sure is super Sentai to the max. And quickly Isekai it is.

When he transformed in front of the mage and had the explosive smoke bombs go off behind him to showcase his final pose. I lol'd.

It's pretty ridiculous in how he continues to act like the typical red ranger without any regard to the reality of the current world he's in.

Can this hold up for a whole season, I dunno. But will give it another episode or 2 to see.

Sakamoto Days Episode 1 Impressions

It was pretty cool, but not sure if it will be my type of thing in the long wrong. I would prefer of to leave heavier on the slice of life than the assassin side.

It looks pretty good and the comedy was there. Feels like I'll need to give this a 3 episode chance to form a better opinion

So as for now. Gonna check out a couple more episodes and see if it's something I want to watch weekly.

I May Be a Guild Receptionist, but I’ll Solo Any Boss to Clock Out on Time Episode 1 Impressions

Already this is looking really good. Been meaning to start the light novels, but haven't had time. So let's enjoy the anime.

Loving Alina's inner monologue moments and interactions with the adventurer Ganz. Lol.

I like seeing this side of a guild receptionist, and how much it's like an office lady job, including the stress and trying to protect her career lol. Love Alina so much! She's freaking great. 😂

Must watch this season. 🤣

I Left my A-Rank Party to Help My Former Students Reach the Dungeon Depths! Episode 1 Impressions

I've read the manga. It's not great. But it's fun. Surprised this looks pretty decent, and it's supposedly getting 24 episodes.

The girls are as cute as in the manga. Love my harem anime, so as long as this doesn't shit the bed, I'm in.

Some of the background character designs are so bad I LOL'd. It's basically what I expected, and I'll probably watch it as it airs.

From Bureaucrat to Villainess: Dad’s Been Reincarnated! Episode 1 Impressions

Hahaha already starting off great. This was another I was pumped for. And so far it doesn't disappoint. Characters are great, and the show looks good.

Comedy is fantastic, I love the old dad being reincarnated as the villainess and changing how everything goes. The throwback of him and his daughter from before he Isekai'd was funny too.

Everything he enters 'Dad Mode' is hilarious. And that cheat is so great. 😂

Gotta keep up with this one. Lol

Welcome to Japan, Ms. Elf! Episode 1 Impressions

One of my most anticipated this season. Let's go! Such a great combined Isekai and Reverse Isekai.

So far it looks pretty good. Marie is so pretty! Food looks delicious 🤤. I love Marie's reactions!

Comedic timing is well done, and damn they already met the dragon. Can't remember if it was this fast in the novels or manga, but feel like it wasn't.

Definitely watching this one for sure this season! :UmaruBomb:

The Daily Life of a Middle-Aged Online Shopper in Another World Episode 1 Impressions

I enjoy the manga of this one even though it recently ended. I just ask that the anime is dumb fun like the manga.

I expected it to have middling animation, and it looks like I'm right. As most Isekai, 1st episode is just getting Kenichi setup in how the world works.

I like how it keeps showing prices of the stuff he buys in yen.

I'll keep up with this one regardless since I liked the manga.

Even Given the Worthless "Appraiser" Class, I'm Actually the Strongest Episode 1 Impressions

I remember reading the 1st 3 volumes of the manga, then stalling and never went back. I remember it having a rough start and it being fairly generic after...

This episode is definitely a rough start like the manga. Oh yeah, forgot how edgy and violent it starts... Yawn...

Maybe I'll do a 2nd episode of I feel like it and see if the anime will get me further than the manga. But I doubt it ..

Magic Maker: How to Make Magic in Another World Episode 1 Impressions

This first episode is boring AF lol.

The characters aren't all that interesting, and I didn't find anything going on to be intriguing.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAND this went down a very incestuous path. This first episode hasn't been good enough to just let that slide and hope it isn't a common theme.

:kon_Peace: Dropped! :kon_Peace:

I'm a Noble on the Brink of Ruin, So I Might as Well Try Mastering Magic Episode 1 Impressions

I've been reading the light novels of this one. It's basically a fluffed up version of Reincarnated as a Slime. Liam's OP as shit, and builds a country.

The animation looks decent, and based on episode 2 preview shots the main ladies around Liam all have better character designs than any other character 😂.

So it's an easy turn off your brain series to watch, which is fine by me. I'll keep up with it to see how they adapt the novels.

Medaka Kuroiwa is Impervious to My Charms Episode 1 Impressions

Mona is insufferable as shit. I'm sure the story will have her changing over time. But 5 minutes in I didn't want to see her on screen anymore, let alone wait for any progression of her character

They even made one bra cleavage joke where she showed it to Kuroiwa, then did a similar joke but as an accident, but she got embarrassed that she was showing too much. Like what...

Pass on this series

OKITSURA: Fell in Love with an Okinawan Girl, but I Just Wish I Know What She's Saying Episode 1 Impressions

This show looks gorgeous. Super vibrant settings and characters. I really enjoyed the main 3 cast members, but had one glaring issue.

This is really not a knock on the show, but something on my end. The hardcore Okinawan dialect was causing multiple subtitles for tracking not just the dialect vocabulary, but also the translations... Add times where the normal subs were also on screen, and I found myself not catching anything on screen.

This show will be great for those interested in dialects. Yet for me, it's sometimes too much reading to pay attention to what's happening. I'll pass on continuing this one.

I'm Living With a Otaku NEET Kunoichi?! Episode 1 Impressions

The premise was promising, but this isn't that funny even though it tried hard to be. It comes off as trying too hard.

Looks fine at times, but not amazing. Looks like each episode is 2 episodes in one.

I did not even want to watch the 2nd part, I was so bored from the first. 2nd episode was barely better. Not continuing

I'm Getting Married to a Girl I Hate in My Class Episode 1 Impressions

This was funnier than expected. I laughed out loud a few times. It looks pretty good too.

I always try to find a good rom-com or two each season. This seems like it has a chance to be a weekly watch this season. We'll see how the next couple episodes are.

Headhunted to Another World: From Salaryman to Big Four! Episode 1 Impressions

Been waiting for this one. The manga has been fun and entertaining.

The animation is decent, and I can see where they are obviously using plenty of tricks around static images.

Hope the animation improves because it's doing a good adaptation character wise. Ulmandra is just as great as she is in the manga. 😂 Also the demon lord having so much common sense is so hilarious.

I'll probably keep up with regardless because I enjoy the manga.

Momentary Lily Episode 1 Impressions

Felt like a 24 minute gacha game promo. It looks great visually, and crazy action... But the characters weren't all that interesting.

Like Sci-Fi magical girls fighting Evangelion angel things lol. I dunno... It's not doing it for me to be honest.

I don't think I'll bother with another episode. I kept finding other things to distract myself with. :ab_peace:
