Once an #offshorewind turbine’s tower is standing, WindSpider crane is installed. The crane uses tower as support to install other turbine components. Having the turbine tower as a support structure eliminates relative motion between the crane and the turbine. WindSpider says its crane could reduce offshore wind costs by more than 50%.
