St Eval, Cornwall
Original window in C15 south aisle with new glazing designed by John Dando Sedding for the restoration of 1889. Beautiful 'cobweb' pattern, signature of the Sedding architectural dynasty who mastered the graphic art of leadwork. Brothers Edmund and John Dando, followed by son/nephew Edmund H, worked on restoring churches across Devon and Cornwall and were renowned for their sensitive and inspired work.

An old piece inspired by Penelope Farmer’s book “Charlotte Sometimes” for #WindowWednesday.

in the unending deeps
of stained glass moonbeams.

To feel less than cold stone
and have a skin of granite —
to not fear being alone
on a crowded planet…

I lie on my cool plinth
and bathe in the soft light
