Well I've applied #WindowsUpdates and did their necessary reboots and #JFW is still running and hasn't bothered me to sign in again. That was a very unwelcome bit of behavior so I hope it stays gone.

So, this is the kind of sneaky stuff I expect from Windows. One of my laptops is on Windows 11. The internal keyboard suddenly stopped working. On a Mac, I would know exactly how to resolve this. After doing some research about the PC laptop and doing a few common sense things (remove the battery, discharge, start up, then look for settings), I came to the conclusion that a WINDOWS UPDATE must be gumming up the works. Sure enough, once I had spent time on the update, the keyboard worked fine (and oddly enough, SOME keys worked -- a few of the F keys, so I knew it wasn't the hardware). Gotta love #WindowsUpdates! (That's why I schedule them manually -- so I can do them one at a time). I know, I know -- time for Linux... I'm *almost* there...
