Hin und wieder kriege ich ja Windows 11 in die Hände und muss es nutzen.
Während Windows 10 noch irgendeine Form von UI Konzept und etwas Konsistenz gehabt zu haben scheint, habe ich keine Ahnung mehr was Windows 11 von mir will.
Das wirkt auf mich irgendwie wie einmal alles in den Mixer geworfen und dann über "Oh Gott, warum" abgeseiht.
Wer benutzt das freiwillig?
Das ist aktuell wie die wirklich frühen KDE/Gnome Versionen der 2000er über die zu recht milde gelächelt wurde.
Nur schlimmer und kommerziell. -

Suite de l'épisode : branchée sur le réseau de l'employeur aussi, il faut forcément MS Authentificator. Comme je refuse toujours sur mon ordi perso, le service informatique va passer me faire la double authentification sur leur téléphone en supprimant ensuite les données...

Now, I am having a strange problem with TweeseCake. I just used it about four hours ago on Windows 7 and it was working fine. I came back and opened the program and it asked me to log into TweeseCake itself, as if I were a new user. I already had an account (you can't use this client without having one), so I signed in. But no Mastodon information was saved. So I entered my credentials, but it didn't open Firefox to take me to the someplace.social page. I tried it on my Windows 11 machine, and again, instead of keeping my saved information, it asked me to sign into TweeseCake. As before, no Mastodon information was saved, but this time, when I entered my instance, Firefox opened and it took me to the authorisation page. I then took this copy of TweeseCake and saved it to my Windows 7 machine, but when I opened it, it still asked me to log in. Normally, I can take a portable coppy and use it anywhere. What on Earth is going on? I am using the last version because every time I try to update, no matter which version of Windows i use, it never works. Did they finally fix the program so that this won't happen? Do I need to ask someone to build a Windows 7 client for Mastodon? Why did it do this, even on 11?

أصدرت Microsoft إصداراً تجريبياً جديداً من Windows 11، مقدماً تحسينات لاستعادة النظام وتجربة المستخدم. أبرزها ميزة "إعادة البناء السحابية" (Cloud rebuild) لاستعادة الجهاز بالكامل عبر إعادة تثبيت النظام وتنزيل الصورة والتعريفات من Windows Update، حتى بدون تشغيل النظام أو وسائط خارجية. وفعلت النسخ الاحتياطي التلقائي لإعدادات Windows وتطبيقات المتجر لأجهزة Microsoft Entra، لتعزيز المرونة وتقليل فقدان الإنتاجية. وشملت التحسينات أيضاً تحديث واجهة التحكم في الحساب.

Windows has broken on me once again, I can no longer open up steam as it decides that it'll open up in a random 3rd monitor I don't own / have. I've tried many different things to fix the window and nothing.
I guess this is the time I need to download and dual boot Linux for my games because fuck you microslop. (Also yes I will move 100% over when I can).

Something I genuinely like with the Windows 11 Photos app is that you can drag the currently viewed photo and it can be dragged/dropped to anything that accepts an image (like a web browser).
Not sure if Preview on macOS does this. I don't think Gwenview does this at all, and I prefer KDE to GNOME so to me, Linux doesn't do it at all.
