  1. Some of you may have seen that I recently managed to shoot the #MilkyWay from the #WindowSeat of an A350-900 some 37,000 ft in the air.

Using different workflows, I have slightly different edits. I like both, but I would be interested in hearing what your thoughts are! They were shot only 3 minutes apart

I'll let you guys know the difference in workflows in a couple of days time.

  4. I recently shot the Milky Way from a plane window. I've put together a short reel on Instagram, in case you're interested, to see how some of the moving parts fit together, and how it took 96 shots to get one keeper at 37,000 ft in the air.

If you are interested, I'd be grateful if you could watch until the end and give me a like, because Instagram's algorithm laps up things like that.

  6. Above the Clouds, Below the Dawn

Window seats earn their keep on flights like this one. We were somewhere north of Lisbon, climbing north towards Ireland, when the sun decided to put on a show off the right-hand side of the aircraft. The horizon went from a deep, almost bruised red, up through that signat...

  8. Above the Clouds, Below the Dawn

Window seats earn their keep on flights like this one. We were somewhere north of Lisbon, climbing north towards Ireland, when the sun decided to put on a show off the right-hand side of the aircraft. The horizon went from a deep, almost bruised red, up through that signature aviation orange, and finally settled into a clean morning blue at the top of the frame. That single wispy cloud hanging across the middle felt almost too well placed — like it had been brushed in afterwards. Shooting […]

  10. I was looking through my shots from the plane and found another keeper. This was shot 3 minutes later above western Azerbaijan.

I used #DxOPhotoLab9 to edit this, and its denoise worked like a charm. It certainly came out better than the #Lightroom edit of the same pic.

This was shot as a single frame, handheld for 2 seconds.

📍 37,009 ft over western Azerbaijan.
📷 OM System OM-1 II • OM System 8 mm f/1.8 Fisheye Pro.
    ⏱️ ISO 25600 • 2 seconds • f/1.8.

  12. After spending many hours over weeks checking flight routes, moon phases, and the movement of the cosmos throughout the night, I worked out that around 00:00 GMT would be the best time for me to try and shoot the Milky Way from a flight I'd booked.

📍 37,000 ft in the air over northern Armenia.
📷 OM System OM-1 II • OM System 8 mm f/1.8 Fisheye Pro.
    ⏱️ ISO 25600 • 16 seconds (2 seconds × 8 stacked) • f/1.8.

  14. The Vegas Strip, Harry Reid Airport And Most Of Las Vegas

This was one of those chance encounters with good enough weather, a port side seat and just the right angle to capture most of Las Vegas in one frame. At least the Vegasy part of Las Vegas. Downtown is jus

Description: To be honest, I can't remember exactly where this photo was taken. It might be the US, it might be Canada.

I do remember clearly the flight up to Juneau for an assignment with Uncrui
