In Denton, #WinCo is an employee-owned company, but in Carrollton it is simply an “owned company.” 🤷

Rising prices at American groceries are still something that is far more discussed in media than I see in the stores. Peanut butter is a great example. You CAN pay a lot more than in the past few years but that’s silly if you can just look for sales to stock up. Got our usual Jif far cheaper at the employee-owned Winco. BTW, yesterday I often saw a price difference much less per oz. for food in smaller packages or bottles. Never assume large containers are cheaper for the food!

Customers at this Clovis store could have been exposed to measles, officials say

"FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A second case of measles has been confirmed in Fresno County and health officials are seeking individuals who may have come in contact with the infected person after he visited a grocery store in Clovis.

According to the Fresno County Department of Public Health (FCDPH), the person infected with measles was unvaccinated and is linked to the first case of measles reported earlier this month."

There were only two muffins so the girls fought over them. (Politely) It was eventually settled by everyone taking 1/2 which meant I got some too.

Got the essentials. The creepy kid running the floor sweeper almost ran me over again such that I didn’t peruse the cheese section, and the Epsom salt I plain forgot. Best gotten in bulk at Costco anyway.

That feeling when you insert a coin into a vending machine and you don't hear a click. Then you realize the machine's internals are coated in corn syrup scum which has gummed up the coin handling mechanism and coin return. #winco

Omigosh this #Winco grocery was crowded this morning unexpectedly. They were short cashiers. Only a few checkout lanes were open and maybe 60 shopping carts and people waiting in lines and masses. American shopping can be rather a challenge. #Shopping #Capitalism

Just did the #MaskUp and went grocery shopping. It took longer than it had to because I had to wait a while for the unmasked, middle-aged, heavy-set, hacking, sneezing, generally-looking-like-death-warmed-over person to clear out of the peanut butter aisle.

If I do get sick with the #Covid variant known as #TheKraken, it will be because of the post-holiday superspreader event at #WinCo Foods.
