#WilsonsHospital school has security guards costing over €1,000 per week. In September, Burke had been staying outside the school gates. Then he began sneaking in during the guard's break, and repeatedly entered the buildings.

Burke entered the school after his suspension, defied a #HighCourt #IEHC order to stay away, and was jailed. In January 2023, Enoch Burke was sacked.

Jailed #transphobic teacher #EnochBurke has been told of resignations from a disciplinary appeal panel convened to hear his appeal against his 2003 dismissal from #WilsonsHospital School. As a result, the panel can no longer deal with Burke’s appeal, the letter stated.

Solicitor #TerryGorry gives regular legal analysis of the #EnochBurke case. Today's update explains the powers and possible decisions of the Disciplinary Appeals Panel (#DAP) which met on Saturday.

The crucial point is that the DAP cannot compel any outcome. It can only make non-binding recommendations to the #WilsonsHospital school board, but the board must give due weight to the recommendations.

The #CourtOfAppeal has rejected #EnochBurke's application to stop his Dismissal Appeals Panel (DAP) from going ahead on Saturday 13th December. And he has to pay the Dept of Education's legal costs.

Burke was dismissed from #WilsonsHospital School in January 2023. He has reoeatedly delayed the DAP 'cos the Dept pays his salary until the DAP decides.

The DAP will end that. Either Burke gets his job back, or his dismissal is confirmed. But no more being paid to disrupt.

I don't know if there will be another hearing before Christmas. But #WilsonsHospital School must be relieved that there is no risk of #EnochBurke returning to disrupt the school.

#MrJusticeCregan has got the measure of the #BurkeFamily, and built the template for how to deal with them. He notes that they are a pack of #liars, who have no interest in the court's judgments. They have been abusing the court as a political campaign venue. So he has shut down their ability to abuse the court. 👏

Ex-teacher #EnochBurke may be liable for up to €600,000 in legal costs of #WilsonsHospital school in contesting Burke's antics.

The bills were paid by insurers #Allianz, who got discounts of up to 30%. Multiple costs orders have been made against Burke by the #HighCourt & the #CourtOfAppeal.

Burke's final bill will be decided in the new year by the chief legal costs adjudicator Barry Magee, of the Office of Legal Costs Adjudicators (OLCA).

Burke is entitled to believe whatever he likes, and to speak freely. But he is not entitled to break court orders.

Background: Burke was a teacher at #WilsonsHospital school. In mid 2022 he objected to the school facilitating #gender transition of a #nonbinary pupil.
