Climate stall duty at Merri Food Hub in Fawkner today.

We met 13 yo Charlie who ignored us and we ignored him. But we also met some cute hooman puppies who gave us pats while Dad had a few climate conversations about the climate crisis, waste to energy, industrial agriculture reliance on fossil fuel based fertiliser, what Council is doing.

Also on Labor approving 28 new coal and gas projects in the last 3 years, how that over half the gas exported from Australia there is no royalties paid, in fact we give $billions to foreign owned companies to export this gas which they make many billions in profit. What a scam which succeeding Labor and Coalition Governmdnts have failed to address.

Full Coburg Town Hall in Naarm / #Melbourne hearing first hand from Traditional owners on gas #Fracking and MiddleArm hub: the Northern Territory as sacrifice zone with the #ClimateCrisis

The Federal Government is providing $1.9 billion for MiddleArm hub that will enable Beetaloo gas fracking, LNG export from Darwin.

Water is life and fracking will damage aquifers and the hydrology for large areas of the Territory.

“We helped Dad put up posters advertising the visitors from the Northern Territory coming to speak on the Northern Territory as a sacrifice zone in the development of gas for export.

They will be at Coburg Town Hall on Saturday 23 November 2.30pm to 5pm.

This is important, people. The Federal Labor Government is providing a $1.5 billion subsidy to Middle Arm industrial hub plus another $400 million to other infrastructure enabling gas expansion such as roads for pipeline development.

New research says exported gas has 33% more lifecycle emissions than coal. Japan’s gas use has been declining since 2014 but the Japanese companies have been re-exporting Australian gas to Asia as well as promoting purchase of gas infrastructure locking in #Fossilfuels rather than #renewables.

Don’t 🐾, Get on your feet and get along to Coburg Town Hall.
