Feddich mit »Virtuell Light« (1993; Dt. von Peter Robert), Band 1 der #BridgeTrilogy von #WilliamGibson. Großer Spaß, u.a. weil ich immer wieder vergesse, wie lustig und berührend Gibson erzählt, den ja ein Nimbus umflort, ein arg kühler und distanzierter Autor zu sein.
Unter anderem so geht Marken-versessene #PopLiteratur im Near-Future-SF-Gewandt, wenn sie nicht gutbürgerlich bescheuert ist. Zudem richtiggehend spooky, wie erstaunlich gut der Roman gealtert ist. -
Lesen bildet: #LifeHack
{Rydell} öffnete den Eisschrank und nahm ein Litergefäß aus Plastik mit Schnappverschluß und einem Streifen Tesakrepp an der Seite heraus. Auf das Kreppband hatte er mit dicken Marker »MILCH-EXPERIMENT« geschrieben.
»Was ist das denn?«, fragte Hernandez.
»Milch.«

Tarot and the Lo-Teks
Yesterday’s post was, obviously, about a new shop item on my ko-fi page. All the proceeds from my ko-fi page go toward web-hosting Sage Sips without ads, keeping the Substack paywall-free, and maybe generating a few donations for causes I care about (more about that in a later post.) I’m not going back into business. Handwritten Tarot readings are not a money-maker.
Trust me, I’ve tried it before.
I originally offered tangible, pen and paper Tarot readings years ago, when AI was the stuff of cyberpunk fiction – not anything anyone actually used in normal day-to-day life.
I’ve always been a William Gibson fan, dating back to Neuromancer. I originally offered handwritten Tarot because it was cool and niche. Bringing back handwritten Tarot is more the Lo-Teks from Gibson’s short story turned Keeanu Reeves movie, Johnny Mnemonic.
I never imagined that a person to person email with a digital photo would seem low-tech next to computer-generated art and writing, but here we are. Physical paper and handwriting seems like ancient, mysterious wizardshit by comparison.
If you want a talking type of reading – eesy peesy. There are psychics by the dozens out there doing that and it is up to you to figure out if they are trustworthy or not. (The Tao of Finding a Psychic might help) As far as I know, there are only a handful of us working in the typed-word and email formats, and fewer still that do handwritten pen and ink readings.

@hora_z está la serie de sprawl y la serie del puente. Son 6 libros. La verdad es increíble como ve un par de tópicos centrales en las décadas posteriores, que seguro ya estaban presentes pero imperceptibles:
- disolución de los estados en la práctica y las meta corporaciones
- la importancia de los influencers
- el mundo de la información y analistas de datos
- los vínculos con las IAs

His hero is a coolhunter commissioned to track it down.Thanks for the pointer, having recently replaced very old not very good #HiFi kit with new rather better kit (nothing special to excite audiophiles, but I'm enjoying it) I am open to things to listen to.

Jeg blev færdig med “#MonaLisaOverdrive”. Det var langt den nemmeste af de tre bøger, da #williamgibson s sprog er blevet nemmere at læse, for det meste. Jeg kunne godt lide den, men elskede den ikke. Slutningen er dog meget fed, og jeg kunne ikke lade være med at tænke på, at Wachowskierne har stjålet meget til #TheMatrixRevolutions!

Just did a rewatch. What a fantastic show, and a wonderful adaptation of the #WilliamGibson novel.
Such a shame that the world only got this one season of Chloë Grace Moretz’s portrayal of Flynne Fisher.

@jenspoder @4nd3rs Blev endelig færdig med Count Zero. Næsten på højde med Neuromancer, men Gibson skriver godt nok kringlet til tider! 🤯Samtidig skriver han også enormt smukt til tider. Første kapitel var en vild oplevelse. Det er næsten en hel bog i sig selv og noget af en emotionel rollercoaster ride! Jeg venter nok lige lidt med Mona Lisa Overdrive. Den titel har jeg kendt til siden The Matrix Reloaded havde en sang på soundtracket opkaldt efter den. 😄
Jeg vil helt sikkert også gerne læse noget af det nyere #WilliamGibson på sigt. Tak for en altid inspirerende podcast. @scifisnak.dk -
