Here are some of the shots I had to unzoom to get!

Oh, it was a WHIPPERSNAPPER red-tailed hawk! (Immature, by the plumage.) You tell 'em, Mx. Raven! You can't be expected to put up with delinquents in the park where you're going to raise a family!

I think the ravens are nesting here again this year: adult flying over croaking, then chasing off a (presumably red-tailed) hawk!

Drove from the mid #WillametteValley to the #BayArea yesterday. We made pretty good time! Surprised at how hot it is this week out here.

@Jgbird I love these birds so much with their whistles. I look forward to them coming back each year, I keep thinking I hear them currently in the #willamettevalley back and ready for the spring green-up

@dillyd There were two prescribed fires in the #WillametteValley, coupled with some smoke drifting in from fires in the south and east. It makes for nice sunsets, at least.
I would say that we are about six weeks or less away from the end of fire season, and about three from the leaves changing color 🍁

I was really pleased when a second native #bumblebee (yellow-faced bumble bee) joined the first on this Greater Bird's-Foot-Trefoil yesterday…until my careful aim couldn't keep up with the effects of that second bee's weight on the flower's trajectory!
