I used to scream cacophonically and loudly to #DrFeelgood's *Private Practice* and *Stupidity* while jumping up and down in my underwear as a pre-teen.
The band went on without Lee and Wilko, and I'm sure they continued to create fun pub-rock sort of #music, but Wilko was the THING about them that made them so attractive to me.
This film is SPECTACULARLY filmed and edited, and #WilkoJohnson is this epic, in the Classic sense, presence.
This is a film about #death and #cancer and #dying, and about knowing you have a very limited amount of time left.
#WarrenZevon advised that we all "enjoy every sandwich" - this is not exactly about that.It is about what it - well, about what it FEELS like, from the point of view of an extraordinarily perceptive, sensitive, and articulate person.

#WilkoJohnson A sad week. As a 14-year old in 1975, Down by the Jetty was the first album I bought and Dr Feelgood were the second band I saw live. So much great material online showcasing his music as well as his personal wit and charm. A life well lived. Wilko Johnson, original guitarist with Dr. Feelgood who went on to have a long solo career, has died.
He also played Ser Ilyn Payne in #GameofThrones
He was famous for his ability to seemingly play lead and rhythm at the same time. Here he is with Roger Daltrey.

Wilko Johnson was a precursor of punk. His guitar playing was angry and angular, but his presence - twitchy, confrontational, out of control - was something we'd never beheld before in UK pop. Rotten, Strummer and Weller learned a lot from his edgy demeanour. He does it right RIPDr. Feelgood - She Does it Right

Sorry to hear of the death of #WilkoJohnson. A friend pointed out this video of an early Dr Feelgood live show. The camera mostly follows Brilleaux, but you get glimpses of Johnson's astonishing guitar technique. And if you don't have time for the full 15 minutes, you can always skip to the end for a great version of "You Shouldn't Call the Doctor (If You Can't Afford the Bill)".

Sad to see he has passed. He will be missed by all that saw him and enjoyed his music.

RIP #WilkoJohnson. I went to his farewell concert when he was given a terminal cancer diagnosis but he went on to live another nine years. Bravo! #DrFeelgood

I saw this TV show as a 13 year old dreamer just starting out on guitar.
This single 2 minute piece of film has fundamentally informed my playing style ever since.
An absolutely massive influence and a very sad loss.
