Meadow 2027 started by clearing meadow 2026. Stages 1 and 2 (strim down, then rake up twice) completed this morning while it's in the shade of the ash tree.
Still mow and scarify to do next, and then there's another meadow area to the right of the path and the same size to do as well.Can't do any more today though, have been out for a dog walk afterwards, so my being on my feet budget for the day is exhausted,. Now sat down for lunch... and I expect a nap is due for the afternoon.

I have a tradition. It's not an annual thing. It just happens occasionally. More as I get older, fortunately.
Mostly it's when I'm out hunting for insects, or having morning coffee in a comfortable garden chair.And then I notice, that I'm quietly happy and content. When this occurs, I always mark the occasion, with a quote from Kurt Vonnegut -“If this isn’t nice, what is?”

The new pond is coming along nicely. Two old solar powered fountain pumps converted into a homemade little waterfall. I am chuffed. The bees should have a safer time getting a drink of water.

I don’t think I’ve ever spotted a peacock butterfly in our garden before, but they are very welcome!

I finally started a channel on Peertube - or two actually, the other one, Kirjakanava, is for my Finnish book content. Books & Bugs channel, on the other hand, will mostly be about nature stuff, or that's how I've planned it. But we shall see. I'm baaad at focusing on only one thing in my social media channels. 😀

12 Yellowhammers visiting the garden, with a few just beneath the living room window!😍
They are eating the seeds from the long/ wild grasses, flying around and spreading out in an area around the trampoline.There are some juveniles as well, so despite that trees along some field roads in the area have been cut for the purpose of "Green" Energy, some yellowhammers are doing well.
