The Tenant of Wildfell Hall has married an asshole she thinks she can “fix”. It will not go well.
I can see why this one isn’t as popular as her sister’s works. But so far it’s my favorite. It shows a real grasp of people and while society has changed in the last two centuries, the core traits of people she describes has not.
I particularly appreciated the story of the alcoholic whose friends won’t let him go sober.
