OK, I have *zero* idea how this bug can happen. I’m up 30-14 in #NintendoSwitch #WildCardFootball with seconds left. Out of spite, I play the “skip the conversion if offense scores on this play” wild card, and then I mess up and they score a TD. Time expires, 30-20.

And then Chris Berman announces the score is tied, so we’re going to overtime. Tied 30-20?! HUH?

Bonus: I scored a TD in overtime and the game crashed.

I finally hung 50 on the CPU in #WildCardFootball, with the help of a safety along the way. #NintendoSwitch

Like Jim Harbaugh in the “What’s Your Deal” game, I gratuitously went for a two-point conversion when I had 48 points and led by multiple touchdowns, just so I could “put 50 on those MF’s”. And like Harbaugh, I didn’t make the conversion. #WildCardFootball #NintendoSwitch

Also, Best Buy had a pre-order bonus for star players in #WildCardFootball, so I’ve got Jerry Rice playing for Grand Rapids, and he’s… he’s pretty good, yeah.

(Of course, watching the video again, I see my running back [X button] coming out of the backfield was crazy wide-open on the left and I should have just thrown it to him.)

One nice thing about #WildCardFootball on #NintendoSwitch is decking the living crap out of Aaron Rodgers. More games should let you deck the living crap out of Aaron Rodgers… fighting games, kart racers, puzzle games, you name it.

Finally getting my groove on in #WildCardFootball for #NintendoSwitch. And yes, I made a thematically-appropriate Grand Rapids team.

The card system in #WildCardFootball sounds dumb, like a distraction from the sport itself, but may lead to fun strategy.

In one tutorial game I played, the CPU had third and long in its own territory. I used a "force pass" rule change, which makes them do a passing play on the next down. The idea being: if I held on third down, this prevents them from punting on fourth, because they have to run a pass play. Practical upshot: a sneaky way to get better field position.

So, the other aspect of #WildCardFootball is the titular "wild cards", which modify the action. At their basic level, they can buff your team or nerf the opponent, add an on-demand special ability like speed boost or even goofy junk like pinball bumpers on the field, or change the rules for the next play.

The cards are limited by an energy system: play a 2-point card every down, or save up for an extravagant booster later.

The kickoff exploding when it hits the lights on the back fence is a nice touch. #WildCardFootball #NintendoSwitch
