Things that really suck: trying to go out-of-bounds (OOB) in Wild Arms. I'm still amazed that you can actually go OOB, and then adding the whole "item duping" via phantom item slots is just insane. I love the game dearly, but it is one of the most broken games on the PS1.

Wild Arms 5 initially released on this day in 2006 in Japan for the PlayStation 2. It was the last entry in the series, but went out on a high note.

Finished with the main story of Wild Arms 2. Just have a little bit of level grinding left, and some additional dungeons and super bosses to finish up everything.
This could have been a fantastic game if the translation wasn't so fucking trash. Sony should be ashamed of it.

December 20, 1996 saw the release of Wild Arms for the Sony PlayStation in Japan. One of the earlier JRPGs for the system, it combined pre-rendered sprites with pixel-art backgrounds and 3D-rendered turn-based combat in a unique western-sci-fi setting. In 2003, it received a remake on PlayStation 2.
A Kickstarter project for a spiritual successor, Armed Fantasia, was successfully funded in 2022.

Wild Arms 1 for the PS1 is one of those underrated gems at this point. Released in the U.S. in 1997 it was overshadowed by FFVII.
However it did spawn 5 games between ps1 and ps2, a remake in the form of alter code F & a tactical PSP game called XF this series is in need of a release as an updated collection and/or a continuation of the series.Did you play the game? What is your take
