  2. Last Light at the End of the Peninsula

It was turning out to be a disappointing sunset as there was so much cloud, and it was getting dark quickly, not great when you're balancing on the hill going down to Dunquin Pier. Luckily, there was a break in the clouds and I spotted some of the golden light of the sunset peek through. It was gone again in a moment, and soon I was walking up the steep path back to the car in the dark.

  6. Evening Light on Sheep’s Head

Sunset on the north side of Sheep's Head last night, looking over towards the Beara Peninsula. I didn't expect much colour, but a break in the clouds let the light through. It was gone within minutes, but not before I had shot it dozens of times!

  7. Donkeys in the Rain

The rain is back! After weeks of blistering sun we’re getting a dose of ordinary Irish weather again except the rain is warm. Four donkeys in a field gathered around, curious to see me on the road with an umbrella held precariously over my head, protecting my camera. I hope...

The rain is back! After weeks of blistering sun we're getting a dose of ordinary Irish weather again except the rain is warm. Four donkeys in a field gathered around, curious to see me on the road with an umbrella held precariously over my head, protecting my camera. I hope they have some shelter in a nearby ruin.

  9. Today’s travel was to the north Mayo coast, including Céide Fields and the Dún Briste stack. Travel due north from here and the next stop is the North Pole. #ireland #wildatlanticway

  10. Who wants to feel the ocean breeze and see the view from the Cliffs of Insanity? ☀️💙🍀🇮🇪

Oops, I mean, The Cliffs of Moher in Ireland - the real life location of the cliffs seen in the Princess Bride.

  12. Evening Sails at Kinsale

A grey evening in Kinsale, with a fleet of small boats out on the harbour for what looked like club racing. Most of them carried red sails, Squibs I think, a class Kinsale Yacht Club is well known for, with a few white ones mixed in. The water was almost flat, and the crews sat low and quiet as they worked their way across it. Behind them, the wooded shoreline climbed up to fields and houses on the hill, and a single dark-hulled yacht sat moored off to the side, sails down for the night.

  13. @drajt Cork would be an excellent starting point for the #wildatlanticway coastal trail. Cycling and camping, but tbh I don't know anything about campsites in Ireland any more.
