Definitive articles for German nouns are one of the most annoying features of the language. Is it "der Joghurt" or "die Joghurt"? Turns out, both. Also "das Joghurt".
With lexicographical data from #Wikidata and shared functions from #Wikifunctions, we can build a tool that prints the correct articles. I wrote such a thing. Also, the source code may be helpful if you want to know how to search for Wikidata lexemes and run functions on the Wikifunctions API. Have a look:

Je dis pas que je suis hype, mais je suis quand même hype de pouvoir générer "automatiquement" un groupe nominal (article + nom) en #lorrain en partant d'un simple lexème sur #Wikidata.
Ce lien va faire apparaître devant vos yeux ébahis un morceau de texte généré spécialement pour vous : "deis fruts" (= "des fruits") !

I have entered all functions for natural language generation in #Esperanto in the #Wikifunctions project's function catalogue. I wrote some of the functions myself. The nice thing about Esperanto is that in a planned language with no exceptions in the formation of grammatical forms, the set of functions can be complete—all possible grammatical forms of the language can be programmatically generated.

Yesterday, I attended a workshop at the University of Stuttgart. One of the invited speakers, Denny Vrandečić (@vrandecic), showed us the challenges of multilingual knowledge, and a new project from the @wikimediafoundation, #Wikifunctions. Functions are knowledge, and sharing functions on the #Web can have an incredible impact (cc @royaheeee @yiyiyiyi). This is an really interesting topic, and I wonder how #SemanticWebServices and other techniques can help to automatically discover functions.
