Man kommt ja manchmal in die Verlegenheit, Buchcover auf Slides packen zu wollen. Rechtlich ist das im Grunde nicht möglich. Ich frage mich, ob das für Verlage nicht sogar betriebswirtschaft sinnvoll wäre, ihr ganzes Verlagsprogramm irgendwo offen lizenziert bereitzustellen (vielleicht sogar auf #wikicommons), damit man das rechtssicher nachnutzen kann? WIkipedia ist ja besser als jedes Bücherschaufenster.

Search in #wikicommons is a pain and mostly doesn't yield results that are in any sense representative of what commons actually has to offer. Using multimodal embeddings in this context is very promising (and a good example of reasonable AI application)

It's just a number but it does make me feel proud make this contribution. Some of these numbers are as a result me working out how to edit structured data on commons via OpenRefine. Making it easier for #WikiCommons files to be found and reused.

Ein bisschen schade, dass das #wikiversum auch bei dieser #bibliocon wieder sehr schwach vertreten ist (1x #Wikipedia, 1x #Wikisource, 0 x #Wikidata, #wikicommons sowieso nicht). Schade auch deshalb, weil zugleich bibliothekarische Parallelangebote vorgestellt werden, für die es auch etablierte Wiki-Workflows gäbe. Da wäre es gut, beide Varianten zu sehen.
Überraschend ist angesichts der Knowledgegraphisierung of everything, dass #LOD/KGs auch nicht wirklich stark vertreten sind.

I'm accidentally playing around with (the already quite old?) sciencestories.io - a web visualization tool for people on @wikidata . The project focuses on female scientists but (by changing the Wikidata Q-id in the URL) you can display data about any person, and the results are sometimes pretty nice. Yesterday at the @digiSberlin conference, the Brücke-Museum Berlin presented its digitization project on Karl Schmidt-Rottluff’s collection of objects from colonial contexts. All objects have been published on #wikiCommons, allowing everyone to contribute and reuse. Usage in wiki projects is still limited.
