#WierdCarMastodon friends talking about vans got me to thinking about VW: what's going on with the electric ID.Buzz? It is really out of production? Stevens Creek VW, AFAIK, the largest VW dealer in California, has 15, with $10,500 discounts. Local dealer Coachella VW has 13. I think they're cool, and we now see them relatively often out here in the SoCal desert.

Fins harness wind to help solar cars race through the Aussie Outback.

The Dutch team Brunel Solar eventually won the race, arriving in Adelaide 34 hours after leaving Darwin. Their car, the Nuna 13, had not one but two fins, which it used to achieve higher speeds without extra energy consumption.

Of_bloody_course… I was over thinking the JDM parts problem … feckin’ Euro Car Parts stock all I need and exchange the calipers too 🙄
So everything is available next day and I don’t need to risk eBay returns if something is wrong.
Euro parts availability was one of the reasons I bought the Airtrek back in 2018, but it’s not needed anything since I originally got it on the road, so I forgot 😂

Wife is out at a charity event tonight so I planned a few beers in front of the TV watching Ted 2 and then catching up on some YouTube stuff perhaps.

Of course thanks to a sticky caliper on my #WierdCarMastodon #Airtrek I’ve spent the evening researching oe spec and budget upgrade part options.

Just as much fun if not as relaxing as I’d hoped.

If anyone ever needs the info the Turbo R used concurrently two different front OE calipers (single or twin pot) and two different size front disc 😉

@serichards they really just need to get people trying BEVs. They may not work for everyone, But as a lifelong petrolhead and BEV sceptic until the #wierdcarmastodon #EV crew persuaded me to give one a go I
certainly would not go back to IC or hybrid now for the family-run-around-shopping-car.

@blingoali @vinc I definitely think you made the right choice But we absolutely love the SoulEV and it seems to meet all “our” real requirements while looking #WierdCarMastodon enough to stand out from the sea of grey suv.

And at £11k, the price of a 10 year old Countryman (the only other car Donna thought was the right size) I’m more than happy with her choice. 😉
