自2011年起，@联合国 于每年6月23日庆祝#国际丧偶妇女日，以吸引人们关注丧偶妇女的处境，倾听她们的声音，并给予她们所需的特别支持。
尽管全世界有超过2.58亿丧偶妇女，但她们一直在社会中得不到重视和支持。丧偶妇女可能被剥夺#继承权，在伴侣死后被#剥夺财产，并可能被视为疾病的“携带者”，受到极度的污名和歧视。在世界范围内，妇女获得@老年养恤金 的可能性比男子低得多，因此，配偶的死亡可能导致老年妇女的#贫困。

🔲 Der Internationaler #TagderWitwen wurde 2005 von der Loomba Foundation im House of Lords, London ins Leben gerufen. Das Datum, der 23. Juni, wurde gewählt, weil an diesem Tag Shrimati Pushpa Wati Loomba, die Mutter von Lord Loomba und die Inspiration für die Stiftung, Witwe wurde.
Der Tag soll auf die Probleme von Hinterbliebenen aufmerksam machen.
