I looked out my front window just now and saw this one enjoying the late afternoon sun while lying in an improvised form where the paving blocks have shifted and sunk, up against the edge of the poured concrete driveway. The stone and concrete were quite warm from sitting in the sun.
Sorry for the lousy photo - this was taken through a dirty window, and he sat up when I tried to snap him through the open door.
[Edit: forgot to attach the darn picture]

Two of our local white-tailed #jackrabbits (again, a species of hare, not a true rabbit) in my backyard today. We had a bunch of snow Tuesday, but that's mostly melted, leaving just the remainders from winter in the shady spots and where there were big piles or drifts.
These two's faces have mostly turned brown, but their bodies are still almost pure white. It's kind of weird; elsewhere in the city, there are jacks that have pretty much turned completely already. It makes these two look like they're a brown hare sitting inside a white fur coat.
They'll be shedding/blowing this coat soon, and will look much trimmer afterwards.
I like their eyes.

Surprising facts [1] about animals, part 1375:
The white-tailed jackrabbit, which is actually a species of hare also known as the prairie hare or "white jack", or simply "jack", in groups is capable of #geometry. It owes this to the fact that hares are territorial and not social.
When multiple jacks are present at a round bowl, a group of 2 will always arrange itself at 180 degree spacing, 3 at 120 degree spacing, and 4 at 90 degree spacing. I don't have a bowl big enough to see if the pattern holds true for groups of 5 or more.
It's pretty neat!
[1] For small values of "fact".
