About that "learning about dust pneumonia" thing, here's a blatant example of #WhiteGaze /"soft" #Racism:

If you, writer, could take the time to learn about dust pneumonia in order to slide it into your story, how come you refer to the indigenous characters in your book as "Native American guy" (all men so far), and not, "a Navajo man" or whatever. You set your book in fucking New Mexico, and you cannot be bothered to even distinguish between the main tribes there?

I hate the #UnitedStates with every piece of me. I am ashamed to have been born here. I am distraught that my ancestors were ever born and that they ever had to endure the nightmare that is #PlantationNation. No decent species would allow white supremacy, much less mandate it and profit from it. Any species that would do that deserves extinction. Given what I see happening in the US each day, I pray that day comes SOON.

I'm troubled by the trend of seeing interviewers ask random #Black celebrities to comment on #Kanye or disavow #antisemitism. It's like when random #Muslims are asked to apologize for #Iran or #terrorism. #White people are not expected to collectively apologize for misbehaving white people as a loyalty test. That puts these people in an akward position of having to comment under the #whitegaze.
