Two Canadian single malts. Two very different whiskies.
Ripple Rock vs Smoke Point from Shelter Point.
Happy Canadian long weekend!
The glass is empty... but the whisky isn't done with us yet.
My wife came down after I finished filming, and we both had to nose the empty glass from the Glenfarclas 2026 Spirit of Speyside release.
Distilled in 2015, released in 2026, 61.3% ABV, and that empty glass is still absolutely incredible.
Some whiskies just leave something behind.

John Sleeman & Sons Blended Rye vs Cooper’s 100% Rye
Both from Spring Mill Distillery, but different in the glass. Cooper’s brings spice, oak, and structure. The blend is softer with sweeter vanilla.

Two Campbeltown heavy hitters, side by side.
Springbank 15 goes dark, rich, and savoury.
Kilkerran 16 starts bright and sweet, then turns spicy and peppery.
Same region — completely different experience.

Revisiting Dingle Batch 006, Irish Single Malt Whiskey.
Port cask, 46.5%—and not quite how I remembered it. Fruit and jam on the nose, but the palate leans dusty and savoury now… cocoa, crackers, and drier overall.

Bushmills 12 vs 16 to wrap Irish Whiskey Month.
Both 40%. Both full of flavour.
12 = bright fruit
16 = darker, richer, a bit of leather
Also… a quick rant on whisky snobbery.

Spring break. Snow. Shoveling.
So I grabbed Pete’s Beast PX Batch Strength (54.1%). Big sherry, big peat… but at $95 CAD, is it worth it?

Jameson Original vs Stout vs Black Barrel.
Same 40%, not the same pour:
Original = classic
Stout = creamy coffee & chocolate
Black Barrel = spice & oak punch
Great way to learn Irish whiskey.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day.
Redbreast 12 Cask Strength — a proper Irish pot still whiskey. Malted + unmalted barley, triple distilled, and bottled with real weight.
Sherry sweetness meets that unmistakable spice.
What are you pouring tonight?

Happy St. Patrick’s Day.
Redbreast 12 Cask Strength in the glass — rich, spicy, and exactly what I was hoping for.

Two mystery samples from Andrew in the UK. Completely blind again — my wife labels them, so I don’t know what’s in the glass until the reveal.
This time they turn out to be Japanese whiskies bottled at 43%, and I’ve never tried either before.
Which one would you choose?
Full tasting on YouTube. Link in bio.

Sample Sunday Blind Whisky Samples
I had no idea what they were until the reveal. Turns out both whiskies are Japanese and bottled at 43%.
Which one do you think I preferred?
(Thanks Andrew!)

Glendronach 15 (2019), 46%, natural colour & NCF, leans dark and PX-driven with walnut and leather depth, while the 12 stays sweeter and easier. Is the 15 worth the step up? Full review: https://youtu.be/O0QWWejrwwQ
20 whiskies. Final pours. Honest verdicts.
Who held up — and who didn’t?

Bowmore side by side tonight.
14 year old Travel Exclusive vs 15 year old Sherry. Same ABV, different finishes, very different results in the glass. I opened both and shared my thoughts.

New look for Glendronach 12 — but is it the same whisky inside? I cracked the latest release to find out.

Four Canadian Ryes, all blind. Two affordable, two pricier. Can I really tell the difference? Which one comes out on top?

My first pour of Glasgow 1770 The Original — fruity nose, lots of oak on the palate. Compared it with Lindores 1494, which brings more cask influence and a fantastic mouthfeel.
Which Lowland would you pick?

Finally, I get to taste Maclean's Nose. Have you had this blend? It's affordable at $49 CND, provides all the detail in casks, etc, and is integrity with natural and non-chill. I really enjoy it. What are your thoughts?
