It contains the I-can't-be-with-you-because trope. Aside from that personal peeve, the show is very well done. The sinister mystery has unexpected twists.
FL's name means camellia, representing faithfulness & longevity, which fits. They also represent spring & this series is about the awakening of the FL.
The cinematography was part of the story - not grand sweeping vistas, but good at conveying the scene's emotion. It also has the most beautifully coordinated neighborhood costuming I've seen.
The last eps was not what I expected, but tied up all the story lines nicely.

Found out that eps 20 has Eng subs in the web browser & in my Roku app, but not in my Android app.

So disappointed. Thought I might finish the last episode of "When the Camellia Blooms” today, but Netflix decided to not have English subtitles for the very last episode. They are available only in Korean & Portuguese
I am learning Korean (very beginner) & Portuguese. I thought I’d try Portuguese subtitles - but I’m still too slow reading it - had to pause every screen - and the last episode starts in a hospital & has a lot of medical terms I don’t know in Portuguese.
Why Netflix? Why!?
