Its disability pride month and this upcoming September will be the 4 year anniversary of the accident that disabled me. It has been a long journey and adjusting to life in a wheelchair has not been easy, but my art has allowed me an opportunity to distract myself from my suffering and share things with the world in a way I never thought possible.

This is the face of a man who was able to go the shops on his own for the first time in six years.
Annnd today I get my first wheelchair taxi no show.
Confirmed it this morning, then get told at 10 minutes passed pickup that no ones been assigned to the case.

first bus that came didn't have space, second bus did, excellent timing with regards to the second leg of the trip. significantly earlier than I actually anticipated.
so I'm taking my time along the last street where the walking in this trip is. by which I mean using my power wheelchair #Wheelcair #PowerWheelchair #WheelchairLife.
which is good. had a slight scare, my phone dropped off of its mount as I was crossing the street. luckily that crosswalk doesn't ever see cars turning there, so I was able to go back into the street and pick it up before anything happened.
the new phone mount phone grip part will help hopefully; it's at home because I went to grab it then noticed the side arms need a screwdriver to adjust. I tried to readjust the phone mount that is there right now and it isn't working because it's all the way tight and still slipping back and forth. so that's trash.
the key for curb cuts and such in this chair is to not be scared and take them at a slow pace but not from stopped. from stopped it's better to go up the curb cut backwards.
also have gotten compliments on my addition to my wheelchair handles, which are don't-touch-me spikes, which velcro on and then I have secured them with a zip tie (black as to blend in) as well so they both do not fly off or come undone and cannot be undone intentionally without some actual thought to it.
