First Bus has teamed up with #Bradford Bulls to help people with #mobility needs travel more confidently on the city’s bus network.

Manual and electric #wheelchair users and mobility scooter users joined the operator’s Safer Independent Travel Training programme at a bus stop near Bartercard Odsal Stadium. The session covered safely boarding and leaving buses, driver support, obtaining a Mobility Scooter Pass and practical advice to build confidence.

First Bus and Bulls staff also experienced boarding and using the designated wheelchair space, gaining insight into the challenges faced by passengers with mobility needs.

The event is part of a season-long partnership aimed at improving awareness of public transport accessibility. First Bus said the programme can help people access work, education, healthcare and leisure while reducing transport barriers and social isolation.
