Money didn't stretch to a Thwaites dumper, but I needed something to haul dirt fast, so I researched wheelbarrows, filtered by (MaxLoad/MaxVolume > 2.5) and bought the one with the cheapest price per volume.

Well, after watching a youtube review where some guy takes his frontloader and dumps two scoops of dirt all over his cart without it collapsing.

Cames as flatpack furniture and after doing several kilometers around the garden with safety inspector #Knirps inside (he refused to get out) it also seems to haul dirt well enough and its even possible to dump it by hand without breaking yourself in half.

It cost less than a new set of moped wheels for the old farm wheelbarrow 🤷‍♂️

1. New tire for $10.00 at Harbor Freight (check your exact size)
2. New wheelbarrow grips for $12 or so. (I was cheap, and replaced mine with old bicycle tires).

First time this wheelbarrow has been used in at least a decade, lol. Not sure if the dog is attacking me because using tools is verboten, OR because he peed on the wheelbarrow and it was marking a corner of the yard, and I am moving his territorial marker. Almost done! Went rummaging around a bucket of bolts and found two that would work. Now I just need to hacksaw off the too long bolts and give it another layer of linseed oil. I opted for just whatever bolts I had here with large washers instead of carriage bolts. #ReduceRepairReuseRecycle #repair #diy #wheelbarrow

Also done earlier, the wheelbarrow wedges I ordered did not match the old wedge. Just went and cut new ones on the table saw. But now, wonder if that wedge was also jury rigged. 🤔 #repair #wheelbarrow

Going with rust covering paint on this. Did a quick once over with a metal brush while wet to knock off loose rust, and I see the undercoat is most certainly that vintage leaded paint white (it has a certain sheen). So, better covered and encapsulated than removed. Washed with a degreaser. There are bits of ancient cement I can't remove... they will have to remain there I suppose. #ReduceRepairReuseRecycle #wheelbarrow #repair

Current status: these wheelbarrows have carriage bolts, but when they are very rusty, they spun. An angle grinder would be the best option here, but I have no angle grinder.
