Your relatives decide against a funeral service, saying that it would be too big a demand on distant relatives who would feel compelled to attend the unhappy event.
At least one of your friends is ok with unhappy events.

Thanks.
#IainMBanks is one of my favourite authors. There is so much going on in his books.
I'll have to read Transitions again.#WhatHappensAfterYouDie - in this case someone - I.M.B. - has remained a favourite author.

Off to listen to "Strange Stories from the Lodge of Leisure", a #LibriVox #Audiobook of some (?) 15 #ChineseGhostStories.
My mild suspicion is that the Lodge of Leisure is an opium den.
I could claim that I'm doing background reading for the #JudgeDee stories. But I'm not really.
Becoming clear that one possibility for #WhatHappensAfterYouDie is that ghost stories can get made up about you. Beautiful young women seem especially prone to this fate.

A nursing home had a dead resident leaving on a gurney through the reception area.
I enquired further.
"They leave by the same way that they entered" was the reply. The nursing home continued with the classification of "person" even after death.
You can continue as a person after you die.
