My doctor's appointment today was way quicker than expected, so I took some time to map details along the Lister Meile, one of Hannover's busy shopping streets. Given how busy this area is, there's a fascinating amount of details missing.
Random observations I made:
I create a lot of changesets, even with Every Door. That's because I hit the upload button so often, and that's to be able to immediately take over in another app. I'm just switching all the time.
I will go out of my way to find out if a place accepts credit cards for example, as long as I don't need to speak to people. Instead of just asking, I will gladly go inside and inspect their card terminal, hoping that nobody will notice. I must look like a criminal.

Went to the next troubled neighborhood today to buy some millet semolina at an international supermarket.
Spent quite some time adding and fixing OpenStreetMap features. So much to do — it seems like people are avoiding this kind of neighborhood for mapping. Also, given how many people are living in these high-rise districts, it's surprising that none of them are mappers.
Needless to say, I didn't get my semolina. But at least I could do something useful.

Nur mal ganz kurz an die frische Luft. Das war der Plan. Aber dann fehlten da schon wieder überall Details in den OSM-Daten, und plötzlich waren zwei Stunden vergangen!
Immer das Gleiche. Und ich liebe es. 😀
Spannendstes Detail: ich habe eine öffentliche Ladestation für E-Bikes kartiert. Die sind ja echt noch eine Seltenheit.

Gerade fällt mir ein, dass ich doch für https://whatdidyoudo.rompe.org eine Fediverse-Anbindung in Arbeit habe. Wie konnte das schon wieder so lange in Vergessenheit geraten?
Und dann habe ich dem @mfuhrmann ja auch schon vor einer halben Ewigkeit etwas versprochen und seitdem liegt das Projekt unfertig herum.
Kann mich mal bitte jemand im Keller einsperren und erst wieder rauslassen, wenn ich meinen Kram zu Ende gebracht habe?

Bei dem Wetter mit dem E-Roller durch die Gegend zu fahren ist die perfekte Kombination aus minimaler Bewegung und maximaler Fahrtwindangriffsfläche.
Könnte ich stundenlang machen! Korrigiere: habe ich gerade stundenlang gemacht.
Das anstrengendste daran war, unterwegs nicht den Versuchungen der Eiscafés und Kioske zu erliegen, sondern sie nur zu kartieren und auf den Affogato zu Hause zu warten.

It may seem boring to some, but I love days like these! Spending an extra hour outside, keeping my eyes open, and adding some details to OpenStreetMap, one neighbourhood at a time, is such a great way to relax.
It's like photographing — you force yourself to look around and see things you wouldn't notice normally.

#til that #OpenStreetMap changesets can be empty. While chasing a bug in #whatdidyoudo that sometimes led to the leaflet map just showing the whole world I discovered some changesets created by Go Map! that contain zero changes and, thus, no coordinates.
The software now copes with this, but I still wonder about the purpose of these changesets. They all had been closed exactly one hour after opening.

Just published a fix for #whatdidyoudo after the app got (rightfully) blocked by the #OpenStreetMap API servers.
Did all of this on my phone and hate past-me for leaving the house without a computer.

Gar nicht mal so übel. Wenn ich mich nicht verzählt habe, sind nun 32 Hinweise grün.
Ein paar werden sich wohl noch in den nächsten Tagen klären.Aber dafür sind auch einige Neue da 🙈

- Fixed: work around #OpenStreetMap API limit of 100 changesets (now limiting to 5000 changesets to prevent overload)

#whatdidyoudo is a very simple #tool that you can use just to be proud of yourself. It shows the number of changes per software in the selected time frame, defaulting to the current day.
