My Dad and his brother in downtown Vancouver, on leave in 1941. Both were teenagers here. #WeWillRememberThem

I purr in remembrance of Private Rowland Healey Day Marsden - 10th Bn, Lincolnshire Regiment.
Aged 27, he gave his life on July 1st 1916, the first day of the #Somme -
I'm purring to honour the bravery of all, both human and animal, who have given their lives for their country.

On #ArmisticeDay, remembering my gg-uncle Private John Henry Jones of Ince, Wigan, serving with the South Lancashire Regt, missing presumed killed at #Gallipoli on 9th August 1915. He was 20 and has no known grave.
Also my great uncle Hugh Ross Cree of Glasgow, a stoker on #HMSIllustrious during WWII, who died of his injuries following the ship's bombing at Malta. Buried at the Commonwealth War Graves cemetery at Haifa, Israel.
Never forgotten. x

My late Grandfather wrote this as a birthday gift to his Mum, from prison where he and other conscientious objectors were incarcerated during the war.

Today, on #HolocaustMemorialDay , I’d like to remember the Mordkowitch sisters from Paris, Madeleine (29/07/31) and Jeannine (17/12/33) who were deported from Drancy on 14/09/42, and murdered at Auschwitz 5 days later. #WeWillRememberThem
