Ich war heute mal im Westfield Center!!!! Hat mich nicht von den Socken gehauen. Es ist halt.. ein Einkaufszentrum. Was ich aber wirklich verstörend finde ist, dass fast sämtliche – nennen wir es mal Gastronomie – unter dem Dach zusammengepfercht sitzt. Ohne Fenster. Dabei liegt das Center UNMITTELBAR an der Elbe!!! Wer plant sowas???? Es gibt zwei Chichi-Restaurants mit Wasserblick und einen sehr versteckten Burgerladen außerhalb. Was für eine Verschwendung!

War schon 2 mal vor Ort. Beeindruckende Architektur, tolle Läden (schaut euch unbedingt den Swarovski-Store an!), leckere Gastronomie (zB Indian Street Food, unter dem Kino), und mit der U4 fährt man praktisch bis vor die Haustür.

Look, there's many legitimate reasons to be critical of Westfield.
But to claim it doesn't know how to maximise the long-term profitability of their shopping centres is laughable.
And sure, private equity over the short term might be willing to load up on more debt and strip out more assets than Westfield.
But the long-term track record of companies that have come under private equity control I'd not great.
"Shopping centre giant Scentre, owner of the local Westfield empire, has come under attack from shareholder activist David Kingston for its lacklustre performance over the last decade, with the listed company’s chairman Ilana Atlas defending its record at its annual meeting in Sydney.
"Mr Kingston, a former Rothschild banker who had targeted the company last year as he took on underperformance across the real estate sector, again questioned the company’s strategy and its inability to generate long-term value for shareholders.
"In a lively meeting, marked by spirited debate, Mr Kingston and his son Charlie, both of K Capital, took on the board over the company’s longer-term failure to lift its share price, the high valuations of its shopping centres after rivals traded some assets cheaply, and plans keep its debt in check." -

Einfach jede Menge Geschäfte übereinanderstapeln und einen Bootsanleger dran, beim Bau, wie es scheint, lebensgefährdend am Arbeitsschutz sparen - fertig ist der Kommerztempel & die Leute scheinen das auch noch in Massen anzunehmen. Oder nur ein Strohfeuer? #Westfield #Überseequartier #Hamburg

Ja, der #Feueralarm vorhin war eine nette Abwechslung…
Die Frau, die auf Grund der schwergängigen Toilettenschlösser eingesperrt war und scheinbar längere Zeit auf den Hausmeister warten musste, weil die 3+x Security-Kräfte und das Toilettenpersonal ihr nicht helfen konnten, wird dieses Erlebnis vermutlich eher negativ bewerten.

Fazit: Ganz nett da mal durchzulaufen und sich alles anzugucken, aber zum Einkaufen werden wir da zukünftig nicht hinfahren.

Ok wir haben den Feueralarm erst nicht mitbekommen, waren im #Rewe, 1,5 l Getränke kaufen. Kommen raus, alle Rolltreppen aus. Sonst alles normal. Dann Gerüchte vom #Feueralarm gehört. In der Nähe vom Ausgang war dann tatsächlich sehr leise ein Feueralarm zu hören.
Die Leute gingen weiter rein und raus. Wir haben uns einfach mal alles draußen angeguckt. Dann kamen #FeuerwehrHamburg und die Polizei. Als wir wieder zurück in der Nähe vom Eingang waren, lief der Feueralarm im #Westfield gut hörbar inkl. Durchsage, so wie man es von Anfang an erwartet hätte. Auch das Personal vom Rewe war inzwischen draußen.

Wir waren heute auch mal neugierig und haben uns das neue #Westfield Einkaufszentrum angesehen.
Positiv:
- wir sind gut mit dem #ÖPNV hingekommen
- wir waren im neuen #Budni - ein paar Kleinigkeiten einkaufen, die wir ohnehin brauchten + was zu trinken.Negativ:
- 1. WC-Besuch Untergeschoss, Türanschlag und Taschenhaken „weg“, Tür bekritzelt, bescheuerte automatische Toilettenspülung, spült x-fach bei jeder Bewegung, Seifenspender gehen noch nicht, aber lose Ersatzspender sind vorhanden - natürlich von nebenan (Budni)
- 2. WC-Besuch Obergeschoss, Türschlösser schwergängig, Security versucht(!) Hausmeister zu erreichen um eine eingesperrte Frau zu befreien.Unterhaltsam:
