Within the last few days the forest outside my workroom called it a year. I remember when the beech trees turned yellow at that time of the year in 2018 or 2019 and I was scared, because they were one month early. Now some even turned red. The ranger says the trees couldn't recover from the last droughts yet.
We've had only 20 percent of the usual amount of precipitation in July. I talked to our local organic farmer last week: oat and maize are a loss this year. #Westerwald

Had my first bicycle tour this year around #Waldbreitbach at river #Wied close to Koblenz.
Creeks flowing into the Wied have formed many almost uninhabited v-shaped valleys. Only some isolated mills appear every few kilometres. Larger villages are located near the river, smaller hamlets on the plateaus.
Great start into the seasons but I regretted not taking a good camera with me.
