Amsterdam is one of the best cities in the world for vinyl culture.
Its record stores are legendary. The city is compact and beautiful – a place where you can lose entire weekends wandering between world-class record shops, dusty basements and slick specialist stores.
And when you spend enough time doing that, you start noticing the same faces. The same collectors. The same DJs. The same people searching for new sounds, hidden gems and records they didn’t know they needed.
That’s where Amsterdam Vinyl Club began – an attempt to bring the city’s vinyl community together.
Launched in June 2025, Amsterdam Vinyl Club started as an experiment: create a night for people who love records as much as we do. A celebration of collecting, discovering and sharing music – built for crate diggers, wax junkies and anyone who think music feels better when it’s played on vinyl.
We wanted to create a platform for new DJs who’d never played live before. A place where experienced selectors could reach new audiences. A room where collectors, music obsessives and curious newcomers could connect through the records they love.
To keep ouer events rooted in vinyl culture, we also invited some of Amsterdam’s best traders to sell records at our events – turning AVC into part club night, part record fair and part community gathering.

Martin’s Monthly Pencil Parlour is a monthly live model drawing workshop. Bring your own materials!
Every month, Martin Draax picks a new theme and invites a model who poses in dynamic action poses. These could be dancers, cosplayers, or athletes, for example. Sometimes nude, sometimes in costume. Always tasteful. The most fun drawing salon in Amsterdam!
The poses range from very short (1 minute) to medium-long (20 minutes). Martin plays thematic music on vinyl and guides you through the afternoon. Bring your own materials: a pencil and 20 sheets of paper is enough, but anything goes of course. Martin will bring thematic music on vinyl and will also teach you some tricks and methods – the more often you come, the better you’ll get! Beginners welcome.

Fabio Galeazzi –drums/percussion Fabio Galeazzi is an Italian drummer and percussionist from Livorno who has become a familiar presence in Amsterdam’s vibrant live music scene. Known for his powerful grooves and versatility, he has performed across a wide range of styles, including brass band music, jazz, funk, blues, and world music.
Mario Semi –vocals/guitarMario Semi is an Indonesian-born, Netherlands-based artist redefining the role of the frontman. Following a prolific career in Bali’s premier live circuits, Semi has established himself in the Netherlands as a musician who rejects the traditional “lead” mentality. As a vocalist and guitarist, he weaves his melodies into the tight, hypnotic grooves of contemporary funk and psychedelic soul—creating a sound that is minimalist in structure, yet massive in feel.

Wat doet de Limburgse mosasaurus in Parijs? Waarom droeg Marie Antoinette twintigste-eeuwse gympen? En wat heeft radiopresentator Jan Meng met magische stenen haarballen te maken? In het zomernummer van tijdschrift Temps Perdu hebben auteurs in verschillende stadia van hun schrijverschap weer op geheel eigen wijze het verleden verkend. De gemene deler blijft dat ze de geschiedenis in de breedste zin van het woord behandelen: ‘alles wat ooit gebeurd is’. Op 1 juli wordt Temps Perdu #2 op feestelijke wijze onthuld, met een programma vol muziek en voordrachten! Daarnaast is er ook werk van illustratoren te koop op een kunstmarkt in het café. Evi Kock Evi Kock heeft een master in Oudheidwetenschappen en een grote liefde voor de kunst. Deze twee onderwerpen brengt ze samen in een beschouwing over moderne beeldhouwkunst en haar intieme relatie met Plato. Jari Lemmers Jari Lemmers is masterstudent Geschiedenis aan de UvA en tevens speler/trainer/manager van één van Amsterdams minst succesvolle voetbalteams. In zijn voordracht reflecteert hij op gevoelens van vergane glorie, trots en teleurstelling op het voetbalveld. Lars Kroon Lars Kroon is een Nederlandse zanger-liedschrijver. Als een toegewijde buitenstaander verkent hij met zijn muziek en teksten de menselijke ervaring. Socks;SportsSocks Somewhere between discomfort and rock ‘n’ roll, between virtuosity and amateurism, between disarming honesty and irony, you’ll find Socks;SportsSocks—a Rotterdam band with a contemporary DIY mentality. Coaster is the slowcore project of Bart Appel and Paul Dijkman. The duo, primarily guitarists, quickly bonded over their shared love for quiet and slow music. They build their songwriting upon the lo-fi and slowcore ideas of the 90s and 00s, drawing comparisons to Duster, Red House Painters, Low and Elliott Smith.
The band crafts intimate, melancholic songs that blend dreamy indierock with understated storytelling. Their music captures the quiet moments, fleeting memories and themes of resilience creating a warm and reflective listening experience with songs that both feel nostalgic and deeply personal.

Queer Folk Night is a concert series that puts queer artists in the spotlight, creating a warm and intimate space where queerness and folk music can be celebrated together.
With Queer Folk Festival, we’re taking that concept to the next level. Join us at De Nieuwe Anita for an evening featuring six amazing artists, each bringing their own unique voice to the stage. each bringing their own songs, stories, and perspective. Expect an intimate atmosphere, beautiful music, and a welcoming atmosphere where community and music come together.
Line- up: Hana Fatur (band) Lotje (Band) Babygurl (Band) MX (akoestisch) Levi Boon (akoestisch) Kasmin (akoestisch) DJ Emerence (DJ)Babygurl is a queer alternative folk project, bringing raw and bittersweet songs that feel close to the heart and leave the listener haunted. Songwriter Dora Funnekotter translates her experiences as a trans woman into intimate songs about identity, self exploration, loneliness and love. Her intricate guitar parts and introspective vocals create moving performances, inspired by artists like Adrianne Lenker, Elliott Smith and Jacob Alon.
As a queer artist Dora finds it important to also use Babygurl as a platform for other queer creators through artistic collaborations and community building, such as her recurring concert session “Queer Folk Night”
Hana Fatur is a melancholic indie pop artist, whose evocative songwriting and delicate voice guide us through her poetic songs about quiet loneliness, sleepless thoughts and deep sadness. Often called the Slovenian Phoebe Bridgers, the Ljubljana-born and raised artist, who is currently Rotterdam (NL) based, is performing all around Europe and releasing her first EP called “Nocturnal”.
Levi Boon is a musician who creates a world through her music in which the ordinary feels magical. Her songs carry a timeless sense of nostalgia, weaving memories and emotions into melodies that resonate instantly. The warmth in her voice evokes artists such as Carole King, Feist, and Billie Marten. Her music reflects her own life while also serving as a canvas onto which listeners can project their own stories.
Floating through a dream a storm stands before you... The songs of Kasmin ask you to completely give yourself to their stories and help you feel your strongest emotions: Intensity, grief, melancholy, a whole spectrum to float through This spectrum fills their compositions to the last drop, where the story is the most important and structure comes last. With bands like Jeff Buckley, Fink and Andy Shauf as inspiration, be ready to be taken away.
Lotje geeft je de ruimte om de dingen te voelen die je niet helemaal durft te denken. Haar indie-folk songs kijken terug op de gevoelens van woede en frustratie gecentreerd rond angst voor eenzaamheid en opgroeien. De nummers gaan voornamelijk over rouwen over anderen, jezelf, het verleden en toekomst. Met een combinatie van warme band arrangementen en ruwe teksten neemt ze podium en publiek over naar haar wereld. Opgegroeid met Joni Mitchell, Nick Drake en Big Thief schrijft ze emotionele zanglijnen over behapbare gitaarpartijen.
Missing queer representation, especially concerning non-binary individuals, Mx. decided it was time to take matters into their own hands. The result is a bundle of honest indiefolk songs which might make you wanna jump around and cry at the same time.
Mx. is the project of Tisha Smit. It is also a title for anyone who doesn’t fit into being a Mr, Mrs, Miss or a Ms.
DJ Emerence‘s unparalleled ability to adapt allows them to make the crowd at Nieuwe Anita believe, for two hours straight, that they’re standing on an uncut lawn somewhere outside the Randstad in late summer. Maybe wearing nothing but glittery underwear, while gazing into the eyes of your significant other. Maybe that other is Alice Phoebe Lou, Billie Marten, or Levi Boon – let’s just believe that with every fiber of our being.

FUNKIFIED De zoveelste editie van een party vol oude en nieuwe funky music. DJ Sorge & DJ Oscar hanteren een ruime definitie van funk: als het maar swingt en een funky ritme heeft. Vooraf is boven obscure en mindere bekende funk te horen en nadien is beneden de kans om te dansen op de meer bekendere funky klanken van funkmuziek in de ruime zin van het woord.

De Kraters is an Amsterdam based minimal elektro outfit, with a passion for ancient analoge gear and the bold electro of the early 80’s. Everything is played live, without the use of laptops and other digital crap, firing up the drummachines, hitting keys and tweaking knobs.
This evening de Kraters welcome singer Gezzebelle into a funk driven elektro set; for a good dose of peace, unity, love and having fun. The Kraters are really looking forward to this show, just imagine LCD Soundsystem had Betty Davis over for the night!

Duo-expositie opening: Marijke Hoenderdos & Kees Kerkhoven

Op 2 juli opent de nieuwe duo-expositie van Marijke Hoenderdos & Kees Kerkhoven in ons café. De opening is gratis toegankelijk en de expositie is te zien tot eind juli.
Kees Kerkhoven Schilderijen, thema “koppen”. Zelf zegt Keer over zijn werk: “Zolang als ik me kan herinneren teken ik al. Als kind begonnen met Donaldduckjes en later ook nog geïnspireerd door andere stripfiguren. Nog later tekende ik echt van alles en nog wat. Mijn werk op architectenbureaus had voor een deel ook met tekenen te maken, zowel technisch tekenen en schetsen als het maken van “artists impressions”. Sinds ruim 25 jaar vooral na mijn pensionering ben ik ook gaan schilderen. Uiteindelijk schilder en teken ik vooral mensen, en dan speciaal vaak gezichten, oftewel “koppen”, in schildersjargon. De koppen kunnen “realistisch” zijn, meestal van bestaande personen, model of foto. Ook veel fantasiekoppen die aan abstractie raken. En tegenwoordig vaker experimenteel. Een schilderij is naar mijn mening een tataal ander medium dan een foto. Iets in gezichten trekt me aan en intrigeert me. Wat, dat kan ik niet uitleggen maar misschien kom ik er eens via het uitbeelden achter wat mij zo in gezichten boeit.”Marijke Hoenderdos exposeerde al in 1991 haar schilderijen van travestieten en transseksuelen toen hun bestaan zich nog grotendeels in het geheim afspeelde.
Het weergeven van de vrouwelijke en ook de mannelijke kant, maar ook het theatrale van hun verschijning fascineert haar. Nu lhbtqia heel bekend is en breed uitgedragen wordt exposeert Marijke haar travestietenschilderijen bij de Nieuwe Anita. Meer weten? LE MOTAT
Vernoemd naar een dier dat onder de categorie nachtvlinder valt, is LE MOTAT een act voor precies dat soort mensen: nachtbrakers. Ergens in een donkere steeg van het straatje Spinvis, André Hazes en Goldband schrijft en produceert hij indiebangers en tranentrekkers, die even poëtisch als direct van aard zijn. Echter, niet in het Frans, maar wel in de taal der liefde.

Hey, net als elk jaar doen we een klein benefietje, net als elk jaar zijn we weer te laat voor onze officiële ‘verjaardag’, maar niet zoals elk jaar doen we dat dit jaar voor iets specifieks: Kronkel! Samen met de lovelies van Pretty Ugly & Bandgurl666 hebben we het idee op de hals gehaald om een festival te organiseren. Leuk! Wel duur! Dat komt goed, maar omdat alle beetjes helpen en omdat het ook heeeel leuk is; Benefiets!

Modern Figure
Modern Figure is een Nederlandse new wave band met een melancholisch hart. De combinatie van New Wave met de urgentie van postpunk creëert een sfeer waarin kwetsbaarheid en energie samenkomen. De band bracht inmiddels twee singles uit en werkt richting hun debuut EP.Luka Schuurman & Cycles
“Op de fiets, op de fiets, dan bedenk ik wel eens iets”. Dick Bruna zong het al: een fietstocht biedt ruimte voor contemplatie. Niet
geheel verrassend dus dat de verstillende soundscapes van Luka Schuurman nu het canvas zijn gaan vormen voor de fiets als muziekinstrument. In ‘Cycles’ verkent Schuurman de ritmes die ontstaan in het aanlopen van fietsen en in het klankbeeld van de stad Amsterdam. In een poging het wiel opnieuw uit te vinden gaat Schuurman aan de haal met cyclische ritmes en metalen percussieklanken, die gemanipuleerd worden met effecten en synthesizers.Pretty//Ugly
Naast het organiseren van shows, treedt Pretty//Ugly af en toe ook op als dj. Met deze uitspattingen stond hun al bij Guerilla Toss,

Join us to explore the enchanting melodies that Hugh Tracey recorded in Africa. From 1943 to 1963 Tracey undertook numerous expeditions to record the traditional folk music that was quickly vanishing.His monumental work is a tribute to the genius and diversity of African music.
Hugh Tracey travelled almost two thirds of Africa, conducted countless expeditions, recorded 10.000s of songs, and issued 100s of records. Effectively he built a Musical Memory of the subcontinent, an archive where the songs and music of the ancestors of many contemporary Africans are collected.
Guest is Michael Baird, who undertook the also monumental task to listen through 1000s of tapes, and who compiled a series of 25 compilations of that.

Michael Baird is musician and runs the label SWP records and met by chance Hugh Tracey’s son here in Holland. He invited Michael to visit the archive in South Africa. It was a dream come true, and he took on him the task to help to make Tracey’s music widely available. The next 8 years Michael Baird spent listening to 100s of tapes, 1000s hours of music, eventually compiling 25 CDs.
