Longest international airport runways of North Africa
Provided below is a list of the longest international airport runways in North Africa. For purposes of this post, North Africa is defined as Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Morocco, Tunisia, and Western Sahara.
Cairo International Airport – Source: forum.wordldairports.comDespite the reference to international airports in the post title, some of the airports listed do not have “international” in their name. Similarly, there are some airports with “international” in their name that do not offer flights outside their home nation. This list tries to identify those that actually offer international flights (regardless of their name), which have runway(s) a minimum of 10,000 feet in length.

https://www.dw.com/en/un-security-council-backs-morocco-plan-for-western-sahara/a-74579654. This is #Trump supported #imperialism, which completely ignores the wishes of the people of #WesternSahara. In a gross act that violates international law and basic humanist values, a United Nations vote endorsed the Moroccan occupiers as providing a framework for indefinite legal and political status on stolen land: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2025/oct/31/un-approves-resolution-supporting-moroccos-claim-to-western-sahara
The only solution is a free and fair referendum of the indigenous Sahrawis to choose their fate with no intimidation from the occupier.

Michaela and I were grossed out to learn the other day that #NewZealand imports stolen phosphate from #WesternSahara, which has most of its land controlled by their neighbours in #Morocco, and their ancestral land is filled with mines and weapons sold to Morocco by #Israel, which of course were tested first on the people of #Palestine.
This phosphate is used to prop up our #agriculture industry in the form of fertiliser.
As such we have decided to greatly increase the production potential of our #home #garden, when it comes to #fruit and #vegetable #crops.
If anyone in #Wellington or #LowerHutt area (or nearby) wants to #swap #plants with us to help us #grow our garden more quickly, let me know! (Please boost so I can get more coverage)

I’m sorry to ruin your evening, but if you’re mad about what’s going on in #Palestine right now, you should also be mad about what’s going on in #WesternSahara.
The #Saharawi #Arab people are the last #colonised people in #Africa, in the worst police state in the world, formerly colonised by #Spain, but now by Morocco after Spain left.
And to add insult to injury, #Morocco are using weapons systems bought from #Israel against the Saharawi.
