#WesternUniversity in #LondonON is allowing their "pro-life" club to host an event about the "effectiveness of showing abortion victim photography" (which they later renamed "Strategy Presentation").
This is referring to the use of graphic, anti-abortion imagery, an extremely harmful and controversial tactic used by some anti-choicers.

Those of us teaching and studying #UrbanPolitics in Canada have a troubling tendency to think that local politics is a distraction because towns and cities are creatures of the provinces, but of course in reality there's a lot of important complexity and agency at play. #WesternUniversity political scientists Martin Horak and Zack Taylor have created the Canadian Municipal Attributes Portal, which they report on here with Charlotte Kurs.

Next was a fabulous talk by Katy Greenland and @profkeonwest on the definitional boundaries of #discrimination at #WesternUniversity. Pretty much everyone thinks #racism is bad and don't think they engage in any racist behaviors, but racist acts happen all the time. This talk gets into the psychological foundation of this disconnect, and why quantitative metrics are essential for getting at the heart of discrimination. First was a thorough talk by @sylviafuller on women managers and the #gender wage gap at #WesternUniversity.
