Big move inside the apartment today, laying the ground-work to move the main #Wepwawet shrine into the far end of the living area, where the #3Dprinters are now.
This is going to change the flow of everything, as I'm tired of the #3Dprinter mess being at that end and just cluttering up the space, and allow me to enjoy Jackals far more frequently than I do currently (I only go into the 'shrine room' for ritual stuff and I really want to see #jackals 100% of the time, I mean who doesn't, pfft).
So I will be able to have #candles and #incense and #offerings more often for Wepwawet as well since I can keep an eye on lit candles etc. and more casual "s'up *highfive*" style communication on my way to and from the kitchen 🤣
Truthfully, Wepwawet wanted a big everyday #shrine but never requested it to be as sequestered as it is now, and so He will be pleased, as He is very much an every-day Jackal God ❤
My ritual shrine will still stay in the other room where the 3D printers will go. They aren't too loud thankfully.

Update: 2.5 hours and a massive migraine, but I got it done. Don't ask for pictures behind the camera, it looks like a whole apartment exploded.

Latest project completion: #jackal #Wepwawet #3dprinted
Everything is printed in wood filament (about 30% wood, 70% PLA plastic), the Wepwawet jackal is base-coated in black acrylic and has a couple of iridescent gold top coats + clear coat.
The base is printed in the same material, I used real wood stain and a large brush to drag the stain and try to make it look like wood. Win!
Model is mine, the latest evolution in a 2+ year project, created via Meshmixer originally from a few ovals and some stick legs, heh. It's come a long way.

#Wepwawet is not a #wolf. Holy heck in a handbag am I tired of hearing it. Not a wolf, never has been a wolf, never will be a wolf.
It's true, the greeks called it Lycopolis... because they were Greek and not Egyptian, go figure. The city was actually called Zauty (early Egyptian) | Saiut (late Egyptian through Coptic with some adjustments) and finally Asyut.
The original name of the city alludes to the idea of Guardianship of the Northern ways, and it is heavily unlikely the Gods Anubis and Wepwawet were represented by different animals (aka they are both the jackals or jackal-adjacent species).
It continues, based on my 20+ years of research and knowledge, that the sAb animal (jackal animal) which represents both Anubis and Wepwawet most likely ties in to that of C.mesomelas (Silverback / Black-backed Jackal) more than any other species, with a hybrid species potentially making even more sense.
It is a mystery we may never 100% solve aside from theory, however there is one thing we can say for certain: Wepwawet. is. not. a. wolf. in terms of what you are picturing the modern-day "wolf" to be.
For #Kemetic #Pagans and #Paganism what does that mean... does it mean you can no longer use wolf imagery in relation to Wepwawet?
That is not what it means. In fact I myself have a modern-day wolf imagery (one, total, among all my dozens of jackals) for Wepwawet on my #Altar, though He vastly prefers 1) Jackal imagery, 2) standing jackal NOT sitting or lying down, 3) imagery that does NOT have any identification marks pertaining to Anubis.
That all being said, you may use any imagery that is pleasing between you and Wepwawet Himself. That's the loveliness of #Paganism, afterall. It's all about you, and your #gods.
However, to espouse the idea of the 'historical wolf' in terms of Wepwawet continues to be gravely flawed.

My signature #3Dprinted jackal (#Wepwawet, #Kemetic #God #AncientEgypt) got an upgrade this weekend! I re-designed the head from the ground up, designed a new decorative base that is printed in pieces and then assembled. Added glitter 🙂
The base comes completely apart into pieces (top/bottom and 4 sides) which I did so I could more easily have hollow cutouts on the side (easier to 3D print flat pieces with holes than upright ones).
Added a printed gold box inside the base during assembly for a bit of bling but it's difficult to see. I think it will be better if printed bigger (that's probably the next step, go big or go home).
Big thanks to #Sovol #SovolSV06 printer, and #PrusaSlicer 2.6 Alpha 3. Honorable mentions to #TinkerCad, #Fusion360, and #MeshMixer, because I suck at #3dmodeling and needed no fewer than 3 programs to get this done :blob_rave:

Finally upgraded my big shrine to the modern look I was craving. No more hand-me-down wood/glass table falling apart at the seams, no more $10 shitty walmart table. (my little daily shrine is still off to the right)
I feel good about this. May add LED lights!

I also have new statues on order for the rest of my lineup (#Hethert, #Amun, and #Nut) as the current ones are due for an upgrade, though I do really love Amun's ram that I found at a thrift store.

Sometimes, the only way to make progress in something, is to #confront. Sometimes, the only way to protect the good, is to attack the bad.
It's not ideal -- no one wants friction, or #fighting, or #war, not between others, and not within themselves; however, there comes a point where other options have failed, and the only thing left to do, is fight.
And while sometimes those targets are external, sometimes they are internal as well.
Montu attacks the enemies of #Maat and protects truth and order in the process. He is the swift falcon and the strong bull. He is the blistering rays of #Ra falling upon the world -- ensure you strengthen Ma'at as your shield in all things! He wields many #weapons -- swords, knives, arrows -- in His strikes. He is the Raging One Who prevails, and His rage is righteous and justified.
Montu Who Shines in the Sky, Who dispels the darkness in His sights. He is the wind, like Amun, and the sun, like Ra. He emerges from Nun to watch over the Earth, Who illuminates and protects the land, Who stands strong in the East with arms raised, the rays of Ra Himself on the horizon.
May #Wepwawet guide your arrows.

Sketchin' me a jackal <3
Finally managed to get my tablet connected to my computer as a third monitor, allowing me to sketch directly to the PC.
I know, I know, "why bother with the PC at all" -- well I'm just much more of a PC person than a tablet or phone person, so being able to use and draw on my tablet while still having it a part of my PC setup (plus accessing photoshop directly which I'm really good with), really a game-changer for me.
Note that I am really not much of a visual artist. I'm a photographer, digital editor, but a 'drawer' ... eh, not so much. I still like to do it though!
(I had to edit this post and was frustrated I couldn't edit it but only "delete and re-draft" which admittedly is better than nothing)
