A perfectly peaceful scene in Hawes, Wensleydale and the Grade II listed Church of Saint Margaret of Antioch, where in the nearby pasture, 'sheep may safely graze' (cue JS Bach!).
This North Yorkshire market town is associated with the eponymous cheese, made using traditional recipes handed down from French monks in the 12th century.
No small thanks to the stop-motion claymation characters 'Wallace and Gromit', created by Nick Park at Aardman Animations, that Wensleydale cheese is probably known around the world with Wallace famously adoring its taste and flavour and proclaiming to Gromit to it being a particularly "Cracking cheese!"

Wot I dunz (achieved) today:
1) Upgraded my #OS (Operating system)
2) Drank two lassis (no sugar or sweetener, just greek #yogurt and milk frothed together with a fork)
3) Made a great #egg foo yung for lunch
4) #Walked to the mostly deserted Springfield Park to check the wild plant life
5) Prepared for my death by not dying just yet.
6) Had a light supper of #wensleydale cheese on digestive biscuits
7) Learned that balancing on one leg can be combined with kicking #Nazis in the nuts
8) Must get my free #library up and running. Or just contribute to existing. Oh well 7 things is pretty good going for a Sunday...:nonazis: 🥰 :success:

Absolutely no #Wensleydale to be had in Dublin except that tainted by the inclusion of cranberries. Why has this core English cheese - one of the most delicious cheeses in existence - sunk out of the canon? (Sheridan's in Dunnes said they'd have it today; when I went in today they said they wouldn't be getting it, at all; Sheridan's in Anne Street don't have it either)

I've just got home after doing half of my 10,000 steps a day during a torrential downpour. Unfortunately it seems that the waterproofs I bought in 1991 are no longer waterproof. I would take them back but they knocked the shop down and built houses on the site 20 years ago 😭

Mill Gill Force, near Askrigg in Wensleydale, North Yorkshire.
A lovely walk, but beware, the footpath was probably one of the muddiest I've ever encountered!
Definitely a case where the phrase 'wear stout foot ware' seems eminently sensible.
