  2. Solitude is never wasted time. Choosing to be alone is a powerful way to show yourself self-respect.

I would much rather spend my day in quiet comfort. I like doing simple chores around the house or relaxing with my foster cat. Animals are easy to be around. They do not send confusing messages or make life complicated.

When it comes to people, I want to spend my time with friends who truly want to be there. True friendship should feel easy and smooth. It should never feel like a heavy duty or a hard chore.

If a relationship takes too much work just to meet up for a coffee, it is okay to step back. You do not have to force things to work.

Choosing your own company instead of confusing plans is how you protect your peace. It is how you bring energy back to your body.

Listen to what your body needs. Being alone is how we rest, heal, and find ourselves again.

  3. I’m a Ceraunophile, but the foster kitten is definitely not. Vancouver had eight thunderclaps on Tuesday night. It was exhilarating for me, but it sent her straight under the bed. When another clap happened this morning, she was scared all over again.

I spent the morning soothing her and showing her she was safe. It’s a good reminder that fear usually comes from things we don't understand. To her, the thunder is a scary threat. To me, it’s just a "sonic boom" caused by air expanding.

Understanding the "why" behind the noise changed my whole experience. I’m happy to say she is finally out from under the bed today. It’s a small win for her nervous system.

When we understand how our own systems work, we don't have to hide from the "thunder" in our lives. We can learn to regulate and stay grounded instead.

  4. Even with a Kinesiology degree, I'm still discovering how my own body works. I'm using a Push-Pull-Pulse system at WonderPoint Wellness to reclaim my vitality.

In TCM, we move "Qi" (life energy). When Qi stops, we get stagnation—the heavy sludge that causes pain. I call my cupping marks "cup kisses." They're part of a Triple Threat to that stagnation:

    1. The Push (Ultrasonic Massage): Sound waves break up stuck tissue

    2. The Pull (Cupping): Suction pulls up to create space for Qi

    3. The Pulse (TENS): Tiny electrical pulses I use to keep my nerves clear

Massage pushes down, but cupping pulls up. This is better for the fascia. Pulling creates space in the interstitium—our fluid highway—and brings in oxygen. It's more effective than sports massage or acupuncture for me. It draws waste to the surface so the body can flush it out.

I'm the architect of my own health. Follow & share your healing journey in the comments!
