It's a wonderful time of year to visit #WellandCommunityOrchard 🌸💚🌸
Hundreds of trees are blossoming, right now. Lots of wildflowers & other pollinator flowers are out. Lots of berry plants are developing new fruits.

We've added two wooden/wicker chairs by lower raised garden beds & near our berries grow zone. A lovely spot to take a rest break.

One of our heirloom, red fleshed, apple tree blossoms. I'll update with the name of this cultivar soon - forgot it (we have over 125 heirloom apple trees at Welland).

Someone left behind a fuzzy duck, Baby Jellycat branded, baby rattle. It can be picked up, anytime in egg basket mounted on our shed.

Our community learning workshops are fun, affordable (we have sliding scale available), in a beautiful orchard setting.
Many folks end up making new, local, like-minded friends through participating in our various workshops at Welland 😊

This young POC man attended his first workshop at Welland & enjoyed it. He was telling me that he's planning to grow his small apple tree in a large pot, on his apartment balcony 🙂 We helped him select a dwarf apple variety to graft for his small space needs.

I'll be out at #WellandCommunityOrchard again tomorrow from 10am-1pm. I'll be documenting the fruit trees grafting workshop 🙂

I took my client out to Welland Community Orchard & wheeled him around the community orchard park. He had never been there before & loved seeing everything there. It was a lovely post-lunch outing.

These are some of the purple flowering broccoli plants that we grow in our raised bed food gardens at the community orchard park.
