If you’re coming from bsky my biggest tip is to Follow hashtags!! This is equivalent to the lists you follow on bsky. It’ll fill your feed up with new posts to that tag, and of course you can browse the tags to find people you want to follow!! The fediverse is a “build your own feed” kind of place.

Welcome to the fediverse (and specifically WAFRN) tips!
Hey! So I wanted to give some folks some tips for using the fediverse and WAFRN specifically.
- You can change the visibility of your posts! The choices are public, followers only, instance-only, unlisted, and direct message.
- We have Asks on WAFRN!
- WAFRN also has direct bluesky integration, you just have to turn it on. No need to use bridgy!
- You can use HTML and Markdown in your posts!
- If the "new post" window is too small, you can grab the bottom right corner and make it bigger
- WAFRN can do tags with spaces in them; most other fediverse servers can't!
- If you want to follow someone who isn't on wafrn, you can!

It seems there is a influx of new users.
This is not new, we have seen it several times now.
So this is a form words we wrote back in 2018 when we had a glut of new people. It's not changed much but to add a bit of history.

Welcome, we came here out of curiosity. Got chatting to some witches thanks to the kindness of a German who has some excellent chickens.
Moved to an instance where I found the lack of extraneous vowels in the URL which must save me a few microseconds each time.
Ended up in a Co-operative instance for fairness, but...
Eventually span up first our own Mastodon instance, before settling on Misskey where we now abide.
But we stay in the fediverse because of the clowns.
And the artists.
And the furries.
The anarchists, hackers, linguists, nationalists, beings human and otherwise...
Free pineapples, regular AWOOing, and jorts.
Be lovely, be unique¹.
